The Qingming (Pure Brightness) Festival is one of the 24 seasonal division points in China, falling on April 4-6 each year.On each Qingming Festival, all cemeteries are crowded with people who came to sweep tombs and offer sacrifices. The customs have been greatly simplified today. After slightly sweeping the tombs, people offer food, flowers and favorites for the dead, then burning incense and paper money and bow before the memorial tablet.
Qing Ming is a time to remember the dead and the dearly departed. More important, it is a period to honour and to pay respect to one's deceased ancestors and family members. Because it reinforces the ethic of filial piety, Qing Ming is a major Chinese festival.
Do you have a Festival just like ours ?I'm having three days holiday now.

Hi zhouxi, us Catholics have the All Soul's Day which falls on the 2nd of November. We wouldn't call it a Festival though because I don't imagine it having a joyful parade of some sort or some dances for it to look like a festival.
It used to be that people brought sound system to the cemetery, played loud music, and played gamble games but now it's discouraged. All Soul's day must be celebrated with solemnity which is what we are trying to implement now.
