I just came across this article about a guy winning an art competition with his pee. My fist thought was yuck. My second thought being that there was blood in it was "Go to the doctor!" Would you have been thinking "Gee this looks cool..I'll enter "? Or would you have said "Holy cow..not normal, something must be wrong"? I never cease to be amazed by people and the order they place things in importance. Again ewww! Here is the article link http://www.wtfnews.org/wtf-general/iron-man-made-of-urine-wins-art-competition/

Well...they do say that art is in the eye of the beholder but....I really have no idea what to make of this at all. It's different, I'll give this person that to say the very least. Of course, different does not really mean good all of the time. But it is just really different to say the very least and it is just one of those things that is rather disturbing.
Some people just tend to go right to the odd and the really insane and this is just one of those things where it is really just a bit absolutely out there. It will be a news story that gets the attention of the average person, I'll just really give you that. However, it is rather insane how what just passes right as news more often than not. Just rather intriguing.

Haha, to me that's incredibly disgusting, but I'm sure tons of people really value it and see it as creative. That's the issue with art and putting it down/defining it. Really, all one has to do is create an aesthetic experience that's pleasing to at least one person, and it becomes "art." It's all in how someone takes the piece in and values it. So, even though I consider it bizarre, a bit gross and dangerous (blood! ick! you could give someone a disease or something!), if it's valued in the art world, I respect that.

It's something different, that's for sure. But it also sounds very interesting. If no harm is being done to anyone, I see nothing wrong with it. You never know, it may become more popular!

Perceptions differ , to me it sounds loathing but to some it may be an art . Things unusual often attract attention so this may be of interest to some people .

The definition of modern art is - different.
You have to be different. You have to be the first to do something and then have the gift of the gab to be able to talk it into the front line. The fact it may be rubbish or disgusting is not important.
Do you remember the storey about 'The Emporer's Clothes'? ... hmmm.
The really stupid people are the critics who say how wonderful it is!

Ha, it reminds me of something my cat did in her litter box. I actually took a photo of it but it's been lost due to it being on my other pc with the nasty trojans, etc. But she peed the shape of an angel fish, it was a beautiful work of art too. Disgusting in a way I know. Then my mom said she did it again with a different "picture" the other month, I think it was a cat or something. I didn't get to take a photo of that one. It's strange how things like that work, but yes the guy who does it on purpose with his pee is truly disgusting! I'd never enter something of that nature. People think I'm too wierd as it is.
