I really hate having someone in the same class with the same family name as mine. It is just so unfair since I try my best in having a good grade in that particular subject and the teacher mixed up our grades. I don't even know how to contact him..

THe teacher should be responsible for this, not you. Sounds like the teacher doesn't care if you have a good experience in the class/subject or not. If this teacher has made this mistake before shouldn't it be reported? I sure think it should be. Is the right grade going to be recorded correctly?

In the rules? ANOTHER teacher? And another person with your same name? I think I would ask to have a different names used because of this continually happening. I think that these teachers would try alittle harder to be doing the right thing.

Yes, I know- sadly I can't do much about it since it's in the rules i guess. it's not the same teacher though- the other thing was resolved a few months ago.. This is another teacher, and another person with the same surname.

What are you talking about? I am not really trying to surpass him, we just switched grades...it would've been nice if he was smarter... Anyway, I wonder if he got my grade?

Try asking your classmates maybe they know the contact number of your teacher. When I was still studying I have classmates who happens to have the same last name as mine and it is very embarrassing at times whenever my professor would mistakenly refer to me but the truth is he is referring to my classmate.Wish you goodluck! And if any of your classmates doesn't know your teacher's contact number try calling your school I'm sure they have it there . :)

I did- but none of them replied, I think only one of my classmates have his number. Unfortunately the school is out- everyone's on holiday until Monday- so I will just go to the school then. Thank you for your advice...

The first class I took with my married name was confusing. My husband's cousin (mine by marriage) and I have the same last name and very often we would get each others papers. What was even stranger is that Randy's cousin's name is Steven and mine is Darlene. many times I would get Steven's papers and he would get mine. we lived close to each other and I would always go over to his house or he would come over to mine to swap papers. I am glad that he and I are close otherwise I would be upset.

That is very confusing indeed. People who return papers and the like should double check whether they really returned the right papers to the right owner. Especially if th surname is the same.

My friend, it's unavoidable to have someone in the same class, with the same family name. But, since you have a different name and middle name, i think it wouldn't be hard to mistook one for the other. Hence, you should go to your teacher, if you can't contact him by phone , then perhaps get to see the test papers and various materials that will come up with your good grade.

I will go see my teacher next week since for the next few days it'll be a holiday since it's Holy Week, I just hope that he is still there. I experienced this before and it took 2-3 months for it t be changed.

You can always go to the college and forward your complaint there. I think the administration usually have the contact for all professors in a college and they can contact him or her. I have been such an experience before but mine was not about mixing up of names but I teacher giving me a lower grade than I deserved.

I am planning on doing that too- I just hope they entertain me and the teacher is there- it is such a long process to change the grade and before mine took 2-3 months to change, and it was just typographical error

Wow!! You are sure they mixed up your grades, and gave them the wrong one? Was this from a paper or Test you had to take and the handwriting was wrong or something? I would definately be wanting to say something if it were me, and actually glad that I do not have a last name that a lot of others would have to where this mix up would occur. I hope you can somehow get things straightened out.

I went through something similar with the college I am going to. Someone in the registrar's office decided that I had dropped a class when I really hadn't . It was a one day class that I had to get up at 6 a.m. to get to on time. I fought for a year to get the mess cleared up, but I finally won. Do you have a middle name? If you do then at the start of the classes make sure that the teacher knows about the mix ups. Also let the school know what is going on and see if there is a way that your grades can be posted to your account by using your middle initial or some other unique way of separating you from the other person with the same family name. It isn't fair to you that you do all the hard work and the person with the same family name is getting your grades and you have to straighten out the mess. I bet the other person is thrilled to be getting your grades. I, personally, would find a way to have the teachers and the school to recognize you from the other person. You shouldn't have to keep fighting to get the grades that are actually yours, especially since the other person didn't earn as good a grade.

Thankfully, that has never happened to me. However, it used to happen to a friend of mind, who had the same first name and the same first initial, and there were times where his grades got mixed up with the other person. Needless to say, the other person was not the most studious student and it used to drive my friend rather nuts. Of course, one might argue that these teachers should take a bit more care. A bit more care to make sure that the proper grades are in order. But you know, sometimes they don't really consider things like that. That someone might have the same last name, whether it is a relation or not and thus they get things mixed up. And some teachers won't listen to arguments about this point.

It is very difficult when such a situation comes. For a teacher it is little bit difficult too. A teacher has a lot of works to do. She needs to become a teacher for you and a good wife for her husband. She has many things to do and it is quite common to become hurry berry if she has a lo of works but make sure that you have the marks which you had gained by your hard work

good thing I have a unique last name so I wouldn't be experiencing that kind of thing where my grades have been mixed up with someone else. I experienced a similar thing wherein my professor already left and my grade was questionable but since he's gone I couldn't do anything about it.

That is really sad if one does not get the grade he or she deserves... I did not have a problem in high school like this, why are there so many with the same surname as mine now that i am in college. teachers should be more careful in putting grades.
