Do you extend beyond your official working hours to finish your work even without overtime pay? Me I often do that since my work demands me extra time to finish tasks and other stuffs related to it. I don't mind giving my extra time if that will help me fulfill my work better and more efficient. How about you, do you also work overtime even without pay?

Well, yes I extend my time at work even without pay. I could always choose to leave early or go to work at exact time but it is a shame when my co-workers complete their tasks for the day and I don't so I really have to extend just to complete my work instead. When I don't feel good, I leave the office early especially when I feel sleepy! I believe in cases like this, health should come first before your job

It depends on a work.
For me, oh yes, if I want my work to be perfect and more efficient, I do not care if they want to pay me money for the overtime. It is so good if you finish work perfectly, but I guess overtime pay is also good especially if you are really in need of money. This is what I had in mind. If the company demands you more work, I think it is better to have an overtime pay because it is unfair to some who do the extra work by force.

I don't extend working if it's without pay and our company was not into this practice as well. Every hour extension is always paid here. If I do render extra time, that would be non-work related activities. :)

I have done it before but then I realize some companys want you to and then end up useing you for the purpose. The question is would they do something for you if you needed a favor in return someday or would they just overlook all the kindness you did? Great to be kind but not be used by greed of helping for no cause. so I would say sometimes but NOT alot . Good workers are hard to find and GOOD jobs are to..

I do not go on overtime without pay. I believe that as an employee, if my work requires me to go on overtime, i will. As an employer, my employer should compensate me for what i have worked for.

Neither my Husband and I are hourly employees. Being hourly we get paid for the amount of time we are clocked in for. Salary employees usually get the short end of the stick here. FIL used to say when he was salary he's work on the weekends and not get paid more and the hourly people would be getting overtime and basically making more than him because he was salaried.

For the last 30 years of my working life I was the general manager of an industrial laundry about 10 minutes drive from my home. I worked whatever hours that were needed. IF there was a break in during the night the police would ring me and I would go and sort it out. It was all just part of the job.

I am a manager and often work 11 hour days. Like today, I worked 11 hours. I get straight salary and no overtime.

I don't work any longer, but when I did I would stay and try to get a little bit ahead without pay. At the time, I wasn't married and had nothing to come home to except my cats, o I would just stay as long as I needed to.

I am actually working overtime without pay right now. I'm just taking a little break by Mylotting. Good thing I can work from home. I just can't help it. I have this meeting at 10 in the morning (it's already 1 am) and I still haven't finished up the report that I need to present for the meeting later (or tomorrow, whatever works). I got sick last week so I was quite behind on my deliverables. I actually do this quite often. I just don't want to go to the meeting and present a poor/mediocre report so I tend to always render unpaid overtime.

WILL NOT!!!
Overtime means something wrong in the system or with the human especially a lot of worktime have to do
My previuos boss said overtime means your loyallity to the company...well i didn't agree with that concept... I believe loyallity to the company is measure by how many jobs you could finished in your working hour and that will make you efficient and effectif guy...
Overtimes in this age is old fashion...I Will Not do that especially NOT BEEN PAID...

I'm not currently working but in the past when I was working, I used to overtime and was paid for those hours. Whatever work was incomplete for that day, I would continue and complete it the next day. I did not work extra hours and not get paid for them...

My work means that I get paid for every piece of work that I submit, so I never have any reason at the moment to work without overtime. However, when I was in my previous job and worked in an office, I would often stay behind in the evening to get more work done that I couldn't do during the day and I would stay to do that without expecting to get paid for the extra time that I was spending at my desk. I enjoyed the job most of the time so I didn't particularly mind it, but this job is much better for me at the moment.

I used to do that before. but now not anymore. My current job position is more relax than before. This is the same company take note of that
there was a time when have to extend coz of deadlines is there already, i filled up an OT form but unfortunately my boss did not sign and ask why i have to file for an OT in which it is part of my job. I was ashamed at that time so then on i don't but suddenly my new boss told me to fill-up coz i was working beyond the time already.
but there where still times that i don't file an OT especially when i was promoted as a supervisory position. that i often had to extend time even on a weekends.

I just actually came home from working overtime. I will not apply for this oevertime to my boss to have an overtime pay. In our company, we have this internal agreement, wherein we can convert the number of hours we worked beyond the working hours, into hours of our regular schedule. This is what we call offset. For example, I worked overtime for hours equivalent to 8 hours, then I can have a one day vacation.

No i wouldnt work extra with out any pay my workplace hasnt treated the employee's any good since the recession started they are giving us extra work less staff so i dont see why i should work for free. I go to work to earn money and pay the bills not to be a slave.

i used to work overtime w/o money. i was more interested in completing my daily jobs rather keeping them pending for the next day. many used to advice me otherwise, however, i have a different attitude and would prefer to compete the job irrespective of money
