Did you already start and what did you plant?

Hello Mylotters,
I love gardening and this year I finally have some place to do one! I love it for two reasons, what you plant is better than if you buy it in a market and it's a good anti stress for me.
Two weeks I'm working in my little garden now because there is a lot of work to do and with my job it's not easy to find some time. But today I planted my first legumes.
I planted some red onion, carrots, salads, radishes and some garlic.
And you did you already start and what did you plant?
Greetings SillyBE

It's been a lot warmer here than usual for this time of year, so I planted lettuce, radishes, carrots and beets. The garlic is growing from a fall planting last year and the permanent plantings like horseradish and rhubarb are growing as well. BUT...we had a little snow last night. Things will be okay because the ground is warm, but I may have started a little early!

I can garden year round and agree with your post about reducing stress. Its great to have fresh produce on the table and my favorite fruit are strawberries. I need to go out and pick a few for after dinner snacking tonight.

I garden all year round, as there are different things which will grown in different weathers. A couple of weeks ago, we planted some new fruit trees, which will probably take a couple of years to establish themselves, but once they have done so it will mean that we always have nice things to eat at any time of year that we would like something. I actually think that growing your own food can save a lot of money if you do it properly, because you would probably never need to buy anything like vegetables again!

I love to garden and right now I´m thinking about what I will plant as Winter produce. I am eating the last tomatoes and getting the last peppers. I will make a hot sauce with wonderful hot peppers and have started kale and lettuce seeds. Fortunatly our Winters are mild and I will just cover them later with a plastic.

I just took the last picture of my Summer bounty. I planted the hot peppers in containers as I did not want more that 3 plans. The plants are beautiful too. Pepper plants last 2 years at least in my country.

We have room out here but it would take a lot to get the soil good and clean up everything around it. I want to move, but it'll be awhile. When I do move I want to find a place where I'd have room to grow a few fruits and veggies, especially a topsy turvy type tomato plant. If you treat them right, they can last from the time you plant it to September.
