Hello myloters, Today i got my new computer it came with windows7 I heard so much talk about windows 7 i just had to get one. (Oh dear that was the wrong thing to do.)
Over the years i read alot about windows vista about how poor it was and how microsoft should make a new one that works. I never understood what the problem was with vista it always worked for me and it never gave me any major problems
apart from been a bit jammmy. I loved everything about vista it looked ten times better than xp. So the other day i said to myseft right its time to leave vista behide
and get what everyone else was getting windows 7 i wan,ted to keep up with the new kid on the block window 7 i had it in my mind that it was god as i lisened to so much good about it well today i got it. Please understand i have no problems with mircosoft
i think there great but this windows 7 thing is grap everyones going on about the new features and i say to them what bloody features as far as i know theres only one bloody feature and the dam taskbar or the so called super bar and i think they nick named it that because its that bloody big. What the hell is mirosoft doing they are losen it they started off as kings and are ending up a slaves if they keep this up they won,t have anyone left to buy there tham crap. As far as i can see window 7 is windows vista it just got a new task bar there is no major changes. I could have saved 400euro and stead with vista because i just got a second vista so i payed 400euro for a big fat taskbar go to hell microsoft i am going to save up for a Mac you lost me as your customer and you will lose more customers if you keep lying to them. What do you think myloters do you feel the same?

I don't agree with this idea, because everyone is like the operating system. each have advantage and characteristic, Win7 and Vista in a large degree is very similar, but the WIN 7 compatibility has made great progress, to XP can replace xp, enter the new era. As compared with MAC,personlal feeling of MAC a lot of software is not compatible with Windows, which caused some unnecessary trouble.
The usual business office with Windows , MAC when at home entertainment.

I "hate windows 7" and the new Microsoft Word too!
I had to replace my desktop and so am 'stuck' with it.
I knew I'd have to replace my laptop too, so I took a risk,
and did some comparison shopping on Amazon for a "used refurbished
laptop with XP" - and found one that had been done by a certified
Microsoft technician. It has XP on it. I got it (a Dell) for $269
plus shipping, and it works great!
What I hate about Microsoft, is that they are in the 'driver's seat'
so to speak, and you WILL move in the direction they want you to, or
else. I hate the "control factor" in anything!
It'd be nicer if they'd just allow folks to select what system they want,
and let them have it, with tech help. But that's not going to happen.
I miss 'Video Professor,' a company that allowed one to buy cds/dvds
of certain programs, that would walk you through programs step by
step, and help you to master those programs. They went out of business.
I don't think that there are any other companies out there that are
similar, and as reasonable for their products.

You don't sound at all pleased with your new windows 7 computer. I was also wondering if it may be better than vista. I have vista and haven't had too many problems although my computer has been banged around a bit with moving and all. It's a few years old so hopefully I can get a new one soon. If a bigger task bar is the only difference between windows 7 and vista then maybe I'll stick with vista. Good luck to you maybe you'll like a Mac better!

Well hello ecaron, No i am not pleased with windows7 i was hopeing for a bit more
i mean after all the moans about vista i was expecting a windows like mac or something. Instead i got vista again with make up on what a joke. I am going to try what my friend said above and try and change the settings and just keep it as a new vista. If your going to buy a new computer go with a mac at lease you will know it will be new god bless talk to your later.

No I don't. We have someone staying at our place. He brought his computer which has windows 7. I have a laptop with windows XP and I think it's the best operating system they've had. I also heard about vista. So I do agree with you windows 7 is not good, but it's not better than XP and neither is Vista. But that's just my opinion. I've actually never used vista so I can't judge. I think as long as your computer was working, you didn't need to get a new one

When my husband's als started to go so he could no longer type, we got a Wndows for him. Now we always used Windows, and they always crashed but at least we did not have to worry about Wndows 7. So the laptop we got was a Windows Seven and even he could use it - after all he used a special program to move with his head and he was mainly interested in one site, when he passed, I could not operate it even though I was a touch typist, and knew where things were. If you touched the wrong thing, the folder disappeared. And the way they set it up was too complicated. I had already most of the money saved for a Mac, so I gave the Windows computer to a friend of ours and bought the Macbook Pro. No problems and even when there was, it was easy to figure out.
I felt the same way as you do. Windows 7 Stinks.

I don't like windows. I was using it on a daily basis and it always gave me problems here, there, reboot, install updates and reboot again.... After a few month of working hard with my PC and laptop both got slower and slower: booting took ages, rebooting twice as much and when shutting the system down you could go to sleep and leave it there on its own pace.
About 2 years ago I gave Linux a try and now I use it every day. I can do all I need to with it and I won't go back to win anymore. Linux is fast and stays fast. Give it a try, it's free to download :)

I didn't think that the newer computers were so good. They are trying too hard to get the money into their pockets. We are working with IBM think pad XP, thanks to our IT friend that helped us on that one, they work very well, we added more chip to the computer and it goes faster, can't complain.

I have used windows 7, but I felt it's better than windows vista, as I have installed in the same pc, windows 7 used to boot fast and work better when playing games, that's my experience windows 7 and windows vista.
But now I have migrated to Linux, at present using centos, probably will chance to some other Linux OS soon, I don't usually stick to one OS for too long ...
