This week is the Holy Week and tomorrow is Maundy Thursday. As a Catholic country, we will be remembering the sacrifice and rising of Christ that's why we'll have no work tomorrow and on Friday. We will also be going home early today because of consideration from the management (commuting will be difficult, is already difficult since the Holy Week started because people are flocking to and fro, going home in their respective provinces for the long vacation).
We will also have no work on Monday, April 9 because it is also a national holiday commemorating the braveness of our heroes.
So all in all, that will be 5 days and a half vacation!!!

Good for you that your management considers the difficulty in travelling right now. In our work, we still have work until office hours finished. Even tomorrow, there is still manufacturing which means some of our workers will go to work half day tomorrow and will resume on saturday(they will be paid double since it is already holiday). By the way, we need to manufacture our products because end users are animals. We are in a feed milling industry.

I see. I work in a government agency so our management considers national holidays like these. I assume you are working in a private company?

Dear friend,
I too love holidays, but not too much. Here in India too it is holiday from tommorrow to sunday. Monday is working day. At times holiday becomes so nice if that days is well enjoyed. Moreover the freedom during the holiday is much better compared to other working days.

At least you guys are allowed to go home a wee bit earlier than your regular time out. We are told to get off work the same time as usual. Enjoy your long weekend then :D

I like holidays because all of the little activities and preparations are pleasant for me. I like family traditions and extra events.

Hello secretbear. I am also having my holidays after working for more than ten days. It is Tomb-Sweeping Holiday for family members in memory of their ancestors. It is fine weather in total though it rains sometimes. Today is the last day for us to have a rest. Tomorrow we will come back to our work and it will keep us very busy again once work starts. Next, we will have to work nine days before we will have another few days for a rest. You know, busy work makes people long for holidays. Anyway, I wish you to enjoy your holidays. All the best to you, my dear friend.

Well you do have some very brave heroes. I have heard of Maundy Thursday, but I actually never met anyone who celebrates it, and we do have many Catholics in my country, although it is not a state religion. Well, I like holidays, too. Did you read about the family in Germany that put 10,000 blown egg ornaments on a tree in their front yard to celebrate Easter? Too COOL!

in my case, I have no vacation cos my company is a callcenter, well at least I am not midnight shift anymore. :( on the bright side, I am not catholic so I dont need to do fasting...YAY i can have meat anytime I want. I am jelous of the people who are in provinces visiting their relatives and I miss the times where I can soak under the sun and swim at the beach during summer. I miss the beach.

Being a catholic, secret, do remember to abstain from meat on friday ya.. haha It should be fun but also tiring if u are going to churches, and u have a long way to walk, secret ^^ Luckily it's a long weekend, u get to rest for the next 3 days.. haha

I was also excited for this coming holiday. This afternoon, I was a bit disappointed at first because I thought we had a half day free for work and they will let us go home earlier than the usual. But we got out of the office the usual time. Nevertheless, it was still okay because we still got the five days ahead of us!

Indeed, our country will be enjoying the long holidays. As for my case, we still need to report tomorrow to the office to finish or complete important tasks. Good thing we don't have work on Friday up to Monday. Actually, I don't have concrete plans of going anywhere for the Holiday weekend. I am just hoping that I will be able to get a good rest and stay at home to contemplate. (,")

Good for you. I also loved holidays but working on an environment where you are sorrounded by different people with different culture and beliefs, i do not get to enjoy holidays that much.
