I read this on the FB page of a person. In order to be healthy we have go to sleep after 4 hour of not eating anything. That way we will wake up a little hungry and we can it in the morning. Also she said that it's not very good to have a lot of food in your stomach when you go to sleep. What do you think ?

I went to a specialist for a diet and she said to eat 2 hours before you sleep.

hi there, i have heard this too before from old people interviewed on television. like they are eating earlier so that way they can still have a couple of hours before they sleep so the food can be completely digested first. i said i heard it from old people because it is said that it has been proven that it can help us be more healthy and give us a longer life span.

I think that you should always make sure that you have a couple of hours food free before you go to bed because this means that it will be a lot more comfortable for you to sleep than it would be if you were still full from a meal that you had only just finished eating. I don't think it matters with regards to feeling hungry in the morning, because there will be a gap of usually at least 8 hours before you get up after going to bed and you would probably be hungry at this point no matter how much food you chose to eat the night before.

Yeah, I agree that we should not eat too much before we go to bed. But it is said that the period of time is one hour instead of four hours. The reason is that the digestive system also needs a break at night. The input of a lot of food within a short time before sleeping could not be digested well when we sleep, which will affect the intake of food. But it is also said that drinking some milk before going to bed could help us fall asleep more easily. I don't know whether such statement makes sense.

Where did she get that info? It could be very dangerous for a diabetic. I'm not so sure I agree, but 2 hours is enough space as it gives you time for sleep to take place naturally.

Yeah,i agree with it.And if i keep a good habit,my sleep time is in fact four hours later i finished my dinner. However,i always used to eat some snacks before sleep, and perhaps this is indeed a habit to get rid of.

I think it depends on what you eat for dinner. If I eat something light 4 hours before going to bed, I'm sure I wake up hungry in the middle of the night. but for some reason if I eat dinner early or don't have dinner, and manage to sleep till the morning, I don't even get hungry till lunchtime. I'm more hungry in the morning if I eat late at night. So this theory doesn't seem to work for me. I think that if the last meal is 4 hours before sleeping can be a bit early, but I agree that sleeping with full stomach is not the best.
