What would you do if the sales man ask you to get the item without paying?

He want you to go to jail, once you put it inside your pocket without paying, he will call the security in the store and have you arrested. After that, he will be too happy to report your theft to the store manager, and waiting for the company to hand out reward on his success and praise while you sit in the jail waiting for trial later. He is one hell of a as*hole salesman for you. hahaha...

Wow..that is odd that he would suggest such a thing. I can't imagine what he was thinking. That could have got you in big trouble.

He may have been trying to test your honesty. You said "no" and that was the right thing to do. I hope you can find and buy the part you need soon.

maybe he was only joking...i dont think a salesman is not allowed to do that...you should ask for the manager and tell him what the salesman has told you...

Sounds like he's about to get fired so he want to make the store lost as many as possible by doing these things. He probably already do that to several customers.

I just laugh it off when I read that the salesman had done that, trying your character. If he truly wanted you to steal the item, I don't think he had the character to stay long in that job he's doing. However, if it's something that he does to test you, then I'm glad you overcame. Your purse is small because it doesn't contain cash, but contains a lot of money, somewhere. I hope you had a great time with your family and things like that shouldn't ruin your days.

Good on ya for saying no i would have just said if you want me to do that why can you no just sell me the item at retail price as i am not a theif nor do i condon that activity and I (you) have a daughter which is very impressionable and you would not want to set bad example so he should just sold it to you doesnt really make sense if he was going to take it out of the package deal thing ... but who knows some peoples minds just dont work aswell as others i guess.. like me i cant punctuate and pronouncaite my words right (sorry if errors lol) Best of luckk in future endovours with con men ;)

I would have done what you did....turned and walked away. There isn't anything that important that you have to just take it without paying.....good for you.

hi lynboobsy I would ask him why heis suggesting I walk off with it as I know he would call the police , they would catch me and jail me then the sales man would get a big fat raise from his boss for catching the thief.then of course I would just walk out withnout the item and thus upset his scheme completely. loll

Oh my! I wonder if he does this with others as well. Maybe he is trying to be nice, but it sounds to me as if he is a thief himself! Do you think he could have taken a liking to you and wanted to give you a nice gift so to speak? I'd have probably walked away to call the store later and report the man.

It's possible that he has serious grievances with management or he's work, perhaps he's doing it to somehow get even with the owners or something and he may be already ready to quit he's job. Good thing you did not bite, there are cctv cameras now in most business establishments, once they make an inventory and find certain or a lot of items missing, then you might be charged as an accomplice to this qualified thief once they view the security videos.

I think by the way you wrote this post he was having a laugh with you rather than asking you to steal :0) Just his sense of humour is not very good..lol I would have said back to him "If you can find me a big enough purse then yes I will take it!"...just to see what his reaction was like..hahahaha

It sounds like a joke.The salesman like jokes and make them attractive to other people.He may have found you can not take the parts,so he said you purse is too small to take without paying.If you have a big reticule,I think he will not say that anymore.

Well,it is not the problem with the salesman.May be he had a fight with his owner and he wanted to make some of his owner's loss from his side or he thought of doing some favour to you.According to my opinion if you didn't know the salesman don't try to get interact withthese type of salesman.Just pay it what uyou have bought. It's better to be safe than sorry.....

I am also surprised to see that the salesman was giving the item without paying. I think may be he might have been giving it as a compliment and most probably the price might be less that that store do not want the money. I think you should clarify the things like this next time when you come across such a situation. I am also first time hearing about such kind of situation.

wow, i cant imagine that ever happening. good thing your an honest person, and good thing you knew better then to take it.. as he that is just not right at all.. makes me wonder about something that happend to me.. i kinda felt bad but i dont know .. when i did e-bay i had a little mit of money on my card and i would walk in the evenings to a local store and i would buy the same candy every day it cost 1.06 tax and all.. i did this for about two weeks, sometimes i would buy another single candy as well that cost only .40 cents.. so one day i wanted something eles besides my two candys.. so i think it was a differnte kind of candy in a bag. and i knew i did not have alot left on my card.. so i added it up in my head before buying and when i went to pay .. the total she gave me was way off way lower then i expected.. so i thought about and and i did not know if to say anything or not so i just payed for it and when i got my reciept i realized what had happened.. becasue i come in the store every day, this lady had befriended me.. and she is a nice lady.. but what she did was she scanned my regualr candy and then my .40 cent candy and then instead of scanning the other bag of candy.. it was 1.06 as well she scanned the .40 cent in its place.. so i only paid ,40 cents for 1.06 bag of candy...but i really like her alot before and i did not want to get her in trouble at all.. but all the way walking home i was thinking about it and wondering if i did the right thing. but it was only a few cents savings like maybe .60 so i figured no big deal..and i would have felt horrible if she got fired over me.. she is an older lady and i dont know why she did that at all.. but she has never done it again.. and i have been in several times since then.. so i let it go.. but in your case.. i would never had put that in my purse either.. you did the right thing by leaving...makes you wonder about him..

that is very strange.. you did the right thing by not taking it and leaving i would have been very leary about him.. and wonder if he was up to something they probably have cameras in the store as well.. and you know if you did put it in your purse and got caught and you were to tell the truth that he told you to take it chances are they would not believe you and you would get in trouble not him so thats messed up.. some people in this world will do anything...take care and i hope you get you a new water thing.. i would love to have one we just buy bottled water about a case of 24 a week.. but i told hubby if i stop drinkin pop we may have to buy more water as i will be drinking it instead.. right now we go thur 2 24 packs of pepsi a week.. that's alot he takes usualy 3 a day for work and i drink the rest.. or did .. hoping to quit..
