The problem started on March 13th. I remember the exact date since my sister was visiting then. Anyways, the problem with the computer since is that it would not start off in one go. When I switch on the power button the light would be visible and become static, but it would not start up. I have to switch it off and again switch it on when it would work OK. I have tried using the repair option with a long list, error - 0:0 etc.
My laptop is Windows Vista and almost 5 years old now. Any help?

When something like this happens with me I go to youtube to look for people who have had the same problem. They usually have tutorials to fix problems or get around them. That is the only thing I can suggest.

Yowsers, that does not sound good. Often if you turn it off and on again it will self-repair, but if it doesn't you could try bringing it up in safe mode and then turn it off from in there are reboot. Do you know how to get into safe mode? Probably you do, but if not here is a link:

Hello mimpi. How have you been doing recently? From your description, mine laptop has the same problem as you have. Many times when I switch on my second old IBM laptop, it has the problem of fan error, namely, it switches off automatically without agreeing to get switched on. Then I have to do the switch-on action for a few times till it works. My son says that it is old with a lot of dust on the fan, but I have not taken it to any professionals for help with it. The same problem happened to my wife's seven-year-old laptop in February this year and my son opened the back part of laptop, trying to clean the dust, but without any success, only to make it stop working. Later, we took it to a computer shop to get it fixed. Now it is working again. So a better way to get this kind of computer problem fixed is to get help from a professional. Have you ever tried to, mimpi? Good luck with you. Take care.
