My dear mylotters,
It has been a long time since the last time we met here.
How are you all doing? Hope the first quarter of the year ended with remarkable results for all of you.
As I wrote this, my mind is wandering around the topic of how I should convince my superior about financial state of the company.
How does the circumstances of telling the superior be helpful?
Please ignore me if you have difficulty understanding my concern.
Thank you.

hello jack!
well, truth really hurts...That's why some people tell lies because they do not want to hurt others...But instead of focusing that truth hurts, why don't we think of this: "If you really care, you'll want to share!"...You care about someone that's why you need to tell him the truth...Isn't it more hurting if someone discovers that you are just lying to him?
I have circle of friends and I have received many criticisms from them and some criticisms really hurt me! But I always keep in my mind that a word of a TRUE friend hurts. I am not good at everything but I can say that telling the truth can set your mind free. Hope I had helped you. Happy mylotting!

Maybe everyone think that the TRUTH hurts. In fact, we all shouldn't. Truth helps to prevent misunderstandings, prevent more damages and reveal positive results in things we do.
:) Thanks sweet heart for your reply.

I think that it takes a lot of courage to tell the truth all of the time, but it is usually the right thing to do under the majority of circumstances. However, if you make people tell you the truth all of the time then you might get hurt if the truth is not what you really wanted to hear from them. Sometimes, there is no real need to tell people the truth because lying to them won't hurt and it will save their feelings, but certainly in the majority of cases it is much better to be upfront and truthful to people rather than telling white lies.

Hi Jackie,
I presume that when you said "How I should ..." means the news is not going to be good news for the company? If it is good news, there shouldn't be any problem breaking it, right. For the not so good news, and if it affects the immediate future of the company, there really is urgency to let the superior know as soon as possible. The only advice I can give is "Time is of the essence and be truthful". If the superior is not understanding, maybe you should consider if working for this superior is worth all the stress you are undergoing. Hold breaking the news any longer won't make the matter better, but maybe worse.
Try catching him at an appropriate time. I find looking for superior in the early morning best, when they have offload the woes of yesterday and start the day afresh. It may be bad news, but if you put it to him later in the day when he is already vexed up, it might seem much worse then.
But if it is really good news that you are breaking and you wonder how to ask him for a good raise, you got me there, and I shall look forward to a big treat from you?
Take care.

Gather you courage up. Even though truths about your company's financial stability will hurt your superior ( if it is really that bad) they still need to know it so that proper measures can be done. If you will keep playing deaf and just keep the matter to yourself, then there will be bigger problems that may arise (worst is that your company may need to shot down).

i guess it depends on how your superiors nature is!! Go by your instinct and do what you think is right.. At the end of the day, the only thing matters is that you are happy with what you did and what you are doing!! When you go to bed every night, you should be happy with yourself!!

I have always learned to be subjective in terms of delivering messages (most especially bad ones) to someone, most especially the boss.
I think you should first give them the realities of what is going on, then from the figures and 'studies' that you have done, they would somehow get it that the company isn't doing good.
Avoid being emotionally attached. Neither should you say bay news bluntly. Give facts and lesser opinions so that they wouldn't say that you're just saying that because you want to, but rather they'd understand the gravity of the situation.
Good luck and I hope you could share what happens.
Have a great MyLot experience ahead!

Well, one thing you should remember is to never be afraid of your superiors. They are people to. If you have some information about the company that you del might help, you should tell your superior. If it is something that you feel that your boss is over looking, you should also tell them that also. Just because someone is the boss does not mean they know everything. So, your information could be extremely helpful to them.

Everybody waits for good results ,especially the condition have good expectation. Because we do great efforts and have possible to get good results. And if the result is important to the man, maybe the liers make good results with reasonable factors. For your lie is not really lie.
If the results is not so important , and the superior want to know truth ,tell the truth.
We always read novels, they are liers good story. So donot be shamed of lier or truth, truth or liers both can invention magical.

Well, on my opinion, truth doesn't have to always hurt. It is our processing of truth that hurts us.It is our ego that does all the hurting. The truth destroys the ego which is based on lies and manipulates us with them. The ego uses pain to deter us from hearing and/or seeing and/or speaking the truth so it could continue to exist and keep us enslaved. The truth itself is a wonderful thing. It doesn't hurt.It brings the light in the darkness so we can see.Nothing more and nothing less.
