To be a child again

To be a child again, no 9 to 5 no worries. Just school and fun. Now I know not everyone has a great childhood and that there are some worries for children, but I am talking in the general sense of no working. Once they are done with chores, school, sports, they can come home, relax, play games and enjoy their time.
I have to go to work today, and I wish I could just stay home.
Anyone else feel this way?

I know what you mean as sometimes I would like to escape from the real world and just stay home. If I survive the surgery then I am resigning from my full time job and hopefully will work part time still in that job. It is time for me to slow down a bit. We all have days and feel how you feel. Totally normal to crave days when we don't have to be grown up! Blessings

I have been praying for you and hope the surgery is successful and all will be well. If I am remembering correctly that job is stressful on you because of your boss? Hoping that you can be in for part time and have not so many worries.

There are many times it would be nice to not have to go to work, and just sit around and relax all the time, and either be here in myLot posting, or just relaxing. But the only problem is, I would if it paid all the Bills. So for now i do what I do and continue to wish life could be a little more relaxed like back when I was a child for sure.

Oh I dream and wish that I could make the money I need online and be able to make my own schedule, do what I want when I want. One day maybe, but for now I have to work and save up.
Though I do think in the future many more of us will be internet entrepreneurs and live off of our own work.

No, I never really had that carefree a life, as a child or an adult. Even when you stay at home there is work to be done. If you do not have a job, you worry about money or at least I do. I do stay home more than most, and then when I have to go to work, I do not want to, at least not until I get there. I think you have spring fever and need a vacation.

I wish I could take a vacation! Now I know what you mean about being at home all the time and not being able to get out, but then when you have work not really wanting to go. I remember before I found this job I was so tired of being here, and then when I got the job so excited to be there. Now I don't want to leave home but I don't want to be here either. Usually I'm happy about midway through my shift at work for being there, but it takes a bit.

Frankly I wish I COULD go to work. lol I miss the social aspect of just being around people.
Being at home all day is not fun anymore.
But I know what you mean. I must be getting old because lately I've been dreaming a lot about the times I had living at home as a kid and hanging out with my brothers and the things we used to do for fun. I think my psyche is trying to get back in touch with my inner child.
Kinda makes me wish I had grandchildren...........

Sometimes I wish I didn't have to work and other times I am grateful that I do. I won't be able to live out my dreams if I don't have the income coming in to help me do that. I've thought about the things I used to as a kid lately myself. I've been sharing some of those things with my niece and nephew, some of the things I did as a child or myself and my sister did as a child as well.

But if we are just kids we don't have much, just what our parents give us. We have alot of rules and people ordering us in life. Working and being adults we can make our own rules, be responsible for ourselves and have our dreams actually come true not just dreaming them.

This is true of course, but still no monetary worries, and if we think about it the rules we had to follow as children helped us to be responsible and caring adults.

I'm with you on this one. I always say to kids these days - enjoy it while you can (I feel so old when I do so!). They all want to grow old so quickly, as I also did when I was that age, they have no idea how good they have it!
Worked today, collected the man from work, cooked dinner and did a few other bits and pieces along the way, now I'm finally getting a chance to log on here, catch up on the forum I run and then shower, bed an episode of Spartacus Vengeance and time to sleep before I do it all again tomorrow!

It's the same routine that can both relax me and kill me at the same time. I hate doing the same thing over and over again but then again at some points I rather enjoy it. Truth is I'd rather be self employed, set my own hours and be the only reason for my stress, no boss' to stress me.

We are often in such a hurry to grow up we don't realize how great we had it as children! I remember being so eager to grow up now I wish I could have someone else pay my bills!

Ugh. I know that I definitely took this for granted. Even being 15, about a year before I had to start driving and working, I just remember coming home from school every day and watching Charmed on TV and eating dinner. It was nice just being able to relax. But I guess working gives us a 'purpose' in life (in case we need one). Definitely something that I regret not taking more advantage of. But eh, what can you dO? We all have to grow up some time...

How i wish i could turn back time and be a child again. Before my life was really simple and very much comfortable. I easy get everything that i want. So i always want to go back. But there no way to do that.
The only thing i could do today is to live my life.

Yeah those were the days. When we were young we hardly had any serious problems that we had to concern ourselves with. Life was really good. It's like now we appreciate those times so much more when we have all of these responsibilities.

i am pretty sure when you were child you must have urged to have grown up the age and been like your parents...like father...just going to the office and coming back..no tension of exams, no parents counselling sessions on career, no one to explain your where about every time you go out, no report cards, no comparison with siblings....etc etc.
we are just not happy at any age....

Oh yes, why not? Childhood days were days of innocence, no worries, except lessons and homework, no responsibilites, carefree days.During my time, 50 years ago the world was a different place, no tv, no computers. We had a completely outdoor life, playing games, going for picnics, going for movies once in a way, going on summer vacations and generally having a wonderful time. Yes, those were the days my friend...we thought they`ll never end...

hi there,
if i was given a chance to live my childhood again, i would grab the opportunity right away hehehe. i was never able to enjoy my childhood. even up to now that i am 25 i can still feel that i have no freedom at all.
but when i was small, i couldn't wait to grow up already so i can be far away from the people around me already. it's hard like you have nowhere else to go.
