My husband's grandmother my daughters great grandmother got made at me tonight and told my husband that he shouldn't let me let my daughter eat off of a table while we are out eating. Well if anyone here knows me I have a 14 month old daughter and you should also know that I'm not scared of anything really when it comes to my own child.
Know there is nothing wrong with a parent not wanting or letting there child eat of some other places table but there own with young kids. But me I'm not scare of germs the reason why is well my daughter is going to get sick one way or another and I rather her get sick now then later on. Having a cold or two won't kill you. So I just let my daughter eat where ever she wants that isn't the floor. If to me while we are out eating the table looks clean its good enough for me. If there is dirty and its looks dirty then of course I won't let my daughter eat on the table but off of a plate but at her age she likes to throw plates and most places when out eating have glass plates and I don't carry with me baby plates or bowls because it weights down the diaper bag and with me being 16 weeks I don't like to add more weight to me to carry around.
So really I don't see the big deal and she has no right to tell me how to raise my kid and what she can and can't eat off of. I've seen other parents let there kids eat off of the floor and they are still healthy and not sick. I've seen kids eat off lots of every dirty places and they are good.
Yep I'm not a germaphobic parent I embrace germs of the world and encourage to get my daughter sick. She actually doesn't get sick that often because of the fact she in contact with many things.

Any responsible restaurant will wash the tables down with a water and bleach solution anyway, so I don't see what the fuss would be about. I grew up with the same attitude you have, germs are good for the immune system, so why make such a fuss. I could never be a bleach queen, I hate the smell of the stuff too much. Good on you for being sensible.

I don't like the smell of bleach either. But if I feel a table is still dirty I'll either ask them to wipe it back down. Normally they don't bleach between people only at the end of the night or ever few nights but they do add a little bleach to the water to cute the germs down between people. Your going to run in to germs no matter what while out and you and other people touch things. My husband worked for years in the food busyness so he knows its okay other wise he would say something to me. I'll wipe down a table if someone else can't with a baby wipe.

infants' immune system is kinda different than the oldies thats why we have to be more careful with our babies..we dont want them getting cough or colds or diarrhea just because of germs or virus around us..

My daughter isn't an infant a toddler yes but even when she was a baby I wasn't cared of her getting sick because its going to happen no matter what you do. You can keep your child locked away and they will still get sick because we carry germs every where we go as parents when we come and go from the house or places. But there are things parents do to lesson those germs. Me I'm all for them because a cold and little cough isn't going to kill a baby a fever yes. I would be more worried about a fever then a little cold or cough or even diarrhea because diarrhea just means you have something in your system that is working its way out and even in small kids such as infants there are things a parent can give there child also going to the doctor or calling them to let them know if its something that you feel is serious.
Me not so much yeah I only have one child but I've been around and take care of others so much it kind of help with mother hood and those scares. Me it doesn't freak me out others it might and every parent is different and there is no right or wrong when it comes to preventing or letting colds come and go.

Okay. I can't say much to parasites all I know about them is most of them lived in uncooked food or not cooked all the way food.
I'm not scared of them either since the case of parasites and people are very low where i live. In other places they would be a lot higher and even then people need to eat to survive so that is a risk a lot of people take.

I think they need to stay out of your business. You can raise your child however you want to as long as you are not hurting them. It really isn't sanitary to eat of tables that you aren't sure have been disinfected or not but it really isn't a big deal. Just think of all those people say in Africa who are lucky if they eat one meal a day. They would eat things out of the trash if it meant a meal. We should try not to waste food because there are people out there that would love to have the food that you are eating and would eat your food off the floor. Unless they are eating a harmful substance then there really isn't much to worry about. You should watch them to make sure they don't get sick.

You never know when your eating out when the last time the table been cleaned when anyone is eating off it. You get germs from touching everything every day all day long. For me its not a big deal putting food on a table with or with out a place mat for my daughter to eat off of. She is 14 months really clean things means nothing to her I would eat off of the tables too half of the time. If I felt that the table wasn't clean I would take out a baby wipe which I've done some times while out because you know the table looks or feels dirty when I sit down and move my hands over it. Most places clean tables every time some a meal is done.
My daughter is like her dad she almost ever gets sicks. She had colds but most all are during the winter time when its colder and we don't go out much so she isn't around germs as often during that time period and of course with her she gets colds due to teething and it only last for a few days. If its not on the floor and off the table or her own lap I don't care. I've seen kids pick food off of the ground after being told not to eat that and they eat and they are fine. A little dirt never really hurts if it was like rolling dirty and mud and what not I wouldn't let my child touch it or anyone else that was with me.
Some parent worry about germs all of the time and that is fine with me because they are worried about here own child. Every parent has there own worries. I'm just more relaxed when it comes to germs and eating off of certain things. My husband would feed our daughter food that's been out all night and I'm like eww no.
I know my daughter is going to get sick so I"m like go for it baby girl it'll make you stronger in the end.
