Come on people! Let's get this straight! All right? If you were in my situation, how would you feel when your neighbor just get that music turn to its loudest volume to the extent that you feel the thumping impact from underneath your floors? I have to admit that this really piss me off to my very core. Good thing that i still managed to hold my patience when I went to tell whoever it is in that house to keep it down. Ok, he wasn't pleased of being asked to do so from that frowning look. But come on? Arent you considerate enough? It's okay to be listening to music but you don't need the whole town hear that very annoying noise! Have you ever experienced this yourself? How did you get that kind of people straighten up their manners?

Give them a tase of thier own medicine. If you call th police tey wont do much unless its after hours. Usually 10pm. If you live in apt complex they may or may not do anything either. Blast them with some thing you thing will get at them. Like clasical or opera what ever you think they will not like.

Just be sure to place your speakers where they can get the max of the volume. This also works for telemarketers. Just tell them can you hold a minute, then place your phone by the speaker. In this case it doesnt have to be loud. They dont hold long. Or you can fake a accent and act like you dont understand them if you have time to waste and want to intertain yourself. Its fun.

Hi there. I can understand your situation but then mine is a different story. I do live in the second floor of our apartment but theres no one living underneath us. That neighbor who blasted is across our house. Like me he lives on the second floor of their apartment. What annoys me is that he knows very well that there is a baby under their house. It's ok not to mind us but the child right? Dear friend, I suggest that it's better to talk to your neighbor upstairs. I'm sure that they'll be considerate. Because I know just how it feels to hear thumping noise every now and then. Like you, Ill really be pissed off. It will just create more trouble if you get back at them in a revengeful way. Let them realize that they are the ones that are not respectful of you. Or better yet, ask the landlord to renovate the apartment into better flooring and roofing materials so that you'll never hear the movements upstairs at all.

I live in Austin, Texas and I would not even count all the times that this has happened to me. Austin is a big music city as well as a party town. There are a lot of young and single people here. It never ended well for me. I did try to talk to the neighbors but it never helped. Eventually there was very bad feeling between me and my neighbors. I always ended up having to move. I wish you well and hope that your situation ends better. We now have noise pollution laws in Austin and we can call the police if the music is too loud.

I have been in your situation. It's a terrible situation to be in. I am a severe insomniac and I first developed my insomnia because of noisy neighbors on the other side of me many years back in 1975. I have not been able to sleep normally since 1975 and it has really affected my life. I then became very aware of noise pollution, as it is called. Our noise laws are relatively new. They were only passed several years back. They were not in place in the 1970's and 1980's. You might have to document the noise by taping it. You might call the owner or manager of the property. What about your other neighbors. Do they also complain about the noise. I am so glad to be in senior citizen housing and not even needing to deal with the issue now.

Oh thats great that you have laws with regards to that. Here, there is law, yes. But before you can get the satisfaction of keeping their music down, you will just get into trouble if they are not very inconsiderate people really. There are times that this happens inthw middle of the night till morning! Like you, they are young people and partying. I just wish that they'd be more respectful sometimes. Good luck to us then.

They don't listen to us, then lets involve the authority. :)haha!

i think you handled it well. had my neighbor come asked me to turn it down, i'd have gladly done so...but he called the cops instead. Even the cop on the porch said he could barely hear it, but had to come because he was called. He also told me to call the cops on them every little noise i hear, but i'm not like that. I do not blast my neighbors out except on July 4th because they let off fireworks for hours in this neighborhood, and that is the only way i can still hear the music over the noise. if i were in your shoes, i would have done the same thing...unless the music was good, that is :)

Well it's never been nearly that bad in my neighborhood, though I remember once that I could hear my sister playing the piano clear down the street. It didn't sound that loud in the house but for some reason the noise was really carrying outside the house and into the air. I agree that it's very rude and inconsiderate. I don't really understand why people do things like that. It's bad enough that you're destroying your own eardrums, but it's going a bit too far when you aim for everyone else's too.

It's annoying when it's not the music YOU like. . I would be annoyed with my neighbors if they turned their music up really loud.. especially during night time hours. You can actually call the cops on them, I do believe. But I have to admit when I drive home from work (or to work), I tend to jam to my favorite songs. It just brightens my mood. Sometimes when I have my windows rolled down, I will get annoyed looks from pedestrians or drivers next to me who also have their windows down. Ahh well. Happy MyLotting!

Yes,I have experienced such unpleasant moments thanks to some individuals whose passion for music is so big that they forget they're not alone in the block and they should try to respect the unfortunate people who happen to be their neighbors.Luckily,it hasn't happened recently, and that is a good thing because it makes me think that people are becoming a little more civilized and understand that they have to respect the rights of their neighbors too.Anyway,if such a thing happens the best thing in my opinion is to try to talk to these persons to convince them to reduce the volume, and if they don't understand the best thing to do is to call the police;if they receive a substantial fine they will probably learn their lesson and turn the volume down.

I like the suggestion but that is another dilemma. Here in our place, calling the police just make it worse. They'll be getting back at you in ways that you'll be frightened when police are not around at all. And I'm not proud of it. I've seen many cases such as these already. So, talking to them in a peaceful manner I think is what's best. I hope that you're not experiencing the same thing. By the way, from what country do you come from? Thanks for dropping by!

I don't accept that. Even tell my kids to turn down the volume of the tv. We have no radio and they also are not allowed to talk out loud or shout. If the neighbours have a party it's fine but not after a certain time. It's not allowed here either to make noise after 10pm.

It's very annoying, but good that you told him that it's too loud. I have noisy neighbors too, and I rarely knock on their door... but there are two teens who like to turn the volume to the maximum whenever they are at home. They even keep listening to one single song for hours repeating it again and again. They should understand that others deserve to spend their free time how they like too.

That's one of my biggest pet peeves. Especially if it's just thumping bass, at that point, it's just noise. I've gone as far as calling the police if peaceful resolution fail. I once had a guy slam the door in my husbands face after he told him he'd listen to whatever F he wanted, however loud he wanted. Needless to say, the officers did not agree and he actually got fined. He got evicted shortly after that. Where I live now it's thankfully not much of a problem.

It sometimes really amaze me that people are not only inconsiderate but also very immature. Good that whoever that is was evicted eventually. I'm just curious. For how long did you take that kind of neighbor?

Well, it feels good to some people to put on loud music. It feels nice to feel the booming base from time to time. I admit. But your neighbor should keep loud music in the disco or some place where none should be disturbed. Here in holland we call the police if someone is contstantly disturbed by loud sounds. They could give you a fine for disturbing pease.

It's so good that youre in a place to where people follow the law and are afraid to be fined. Here, sometimes, people are already comfortable that policemen may not just take it seriously, or if so, they'll be considerate but just to do it once again. I'm just really hoping that one day, they'll get to realize how it is to be disturbed.

I had neighbors like that where I used to live! I lived above a store that had 3 apartments. I lived in the middle one. I had more then one neighbor the years I lived up there that played their music so loud I couldn'd sleep at night! The first neighbor who did it never listened when the cops, myself or the other neighbors complained! One night I remember the music was on full blashed all night! When the store owners/landlords opened the store at 8 am,the music was still like that! I had complained to them before but they didn't think it was bad! Well after that day they did and talked to the idiot! The loaud music conitinued off and on until the guy lost his job and was kicked out for not paying rent! A few years later,in the apartment,on the other side of me were worst! There was like tow or three living in the apartment. They played loud music all the itme and there was some parties at night! It was terrible! They had a cat who they left rome the corridor where the apartments were, like alot!they even moved all their furniture out in the corridor and left it there for weeks on end! Have no idea why they did that but those people got kicked out with in six months of living next to me! When I moved where I am now I had a young couple who did the same thing! I was told my new neighbor below me was going to be a single woman. I even met her! She was getting the apartment for that couple! My landlord was not happy when she found out she got screwed over! After I told about the loud music, their weekend parties and their shouting matches, they had to move. They moved into the house in front of the house I live in and were warned. Screw up 3 times, your gone! They didn't listen and with in two months they were kicked out and my landlord screens her possible renters so this doesn't happen again! So I know where you are coming from! It is not fun and I am glad I have not had this problem in along time! Hope I never do,either!

This usually happens in our place from different neighbors take note. Sometimes, there are young people who parties until dawn that we can still hear them though they were already blocks away from our house. My husband couldn't concentrate preparing his sermon. Piss off really! So I'm happy that you haven't experienced this for a long time now.

Hi friend... yes, i visit to my college by a local train almost daily more than 200 kms. I often get some persons playing their music on loud voice on their cell phones. If it irritates me, then i request him to lessen the volume and they do that immediately. I dont know what i will do if they ignore me. You can do the same. Request him to lessen the volume. If he listen to you, then okay otherwise it is not your fault to do that which he dislikes most. have a nice time.

There are really people who does that. They seem to enjoy as if like they own the whole neighborhood, right? Well, did your neighbor turned it down? I hope he does. Or he just make the frowning look as if saying " what do you care, i like loud music" It's very irritating. I have a neighbor who does sometimes loud music but then not to the highest volume. It's just loud but then yes, we live with like only a partition is between us. So, meaning we really hear the very loud music. We came to them and like you did we said to turn the volume down, and they agreed and did it.Luckily!

i experience that during high school and college where the other people in the dorm does not have the sense being considerate. some of us are still sleeping but thay are all loud, yelling at each other, loud music and all that. that pisses me off and i am not that time that will just be quiet and deal with it. i was studying nursing and so i try to make as much sleep as i can during the time i don't have hospital duty and lecture. what i would do is i get out of the room, slam the door and yell at those people. i make them feel how it is like when they do that. it is very effective because even though i am new to the dorm, i need to be assertive or else i will be the one suffering. i had room mates before and they would do the same. if they do that i talk to them and tell them if they can be quiet in the morning. i am never mean to my roommates because we seep together hehehe only to those in the other rooms.
