I myself is a smoker from recent years ago yet I have successfully quit it without any guilt to come back this habit that kills millions of users everyday worldwide.Be
patient in making the stiffest decision you could make by regarding smoking might kill you one day if you do not quit it seriously. This is my most effective way how I
quit SMOKING BY JUST TOOTH BRUSHING EVERY TIME I CRAVE TO SMOKE.If you do this every time you like to smoke think about your toothbrush with the the coolest tasting toothpaste you could find in the grocery.I beat you SUCCESSFULLY QUIT SMOKING AT LESS
TIME.Try it with confidence and I am very sure it is worthwhile to do it.

That is alright because sharing a good idea is one of my advocates in life.I have done so much quitting against my habit of smoking before yet all are just a waste of time because I was still smoking and my craving keeps on adding each time I comes back smoking. Now if anyone including you who really is serious to quit then this is the right time by just brushing your teeth.I wish the next time I hear you say you have successfully quit your habit.

Nothing should be more difficult when it comes to man and women. Everything depends on willpower and determination. If the researcher were to find 100 hundred strong willpowered woman to quit smoking, compared to 100 average male, i'm sure the result would be different. Researches are never 100% sure, they are merely guidelines and excuses. Just think, when it comes to hardships in life, who's able to handle it better, man or woman? I would say it's us, woman, not man. BUt what do some research says, they say it's man due to them working hard to support the family, but it's not really so.

I think the research result is sort of true as in my neighborhood, there are more and more women hooked on smoking. What's your take on this again?

Men find it easier???Could be. I am a woman and yes..I struggle with it. I have been off and on trying to quit now for years. I've been hypnotized, used the patch etc. I've been cutting back in hopes to be able to quit by summer or before. i find it really really hard but I don't know if that has anything to do with my gender or the fact that I've been smoking since age 11.

Have you had any health problems so far? I mean you've been smoking since you were 11. That's a long time. As we know that smoking is bad for health and you've been doing it since many many years ago without significant health deterioration. What do you do most of the time, if I may know?

No health problems at all so far. I have not missed a days work in over 20 yrs...longer than that. I feel great. I work at a convenience store full time and I take care of my little grandson on the nights that I have off so my daughter can work, I walk and spend time with friends etc.

That was based on the research conducted by some experts. They made some kind of comparations between men and womem and between smokers and non smokers. It's all because of the nicotine that makes people addicted on it.

In Kerala I don't see that any girls have such habits. In Kerala mostly men have this habit. Allthe people including 16+ age of children is addicted to this habit. I don't know how this is happening. Most of my friends also do it. Around 75% of the population in our country has the habit to smoke but girls are very rare.

Hi, nice to have you here in the discussion. Where are you? It's great to know that only few women are addicted to smoking there. But once they are addicted, they will never want to give it up.

I do not think that gender plays a big role in quitting the habit of smoking.
It is actually more of what drives you to quit, and most often than not, this is health. People quit when they get sick or have someone very close to them get really sick.
I think cultural environment is a much bigger driver than gender. In many countries in Asia, especially, there are still fewer female smokers than men. So maybe the female smokers who really smoked hard, have it really hooked because not many female even start the habit.

The article is right. Women have a rougher time because of their genetic structure. Very often you may find that women have a more obsessive compulsive structure and also because of our more addictive personalities. Many articles have been published here in the United States and they all agree with what you have read.
My father quit smoking cold turkey without any problem. My Mom never could quit, although she did try a couple of times. It was just too difficult because of the stress levels in her life. I never smoked and was never attracted to it. Simply because I woke up every morning to dirty ashtrays at my place at the table. ICK!!!! I couldn't eat because of the smell. I also had the job of washing the ashtrays.

Why do you have to do that, Loverbear? I mean you never smoke and even abhore the smell of it but your job is to clean up ashtrays. Can you shed lighs on it?

I don't know if women find it harder to quit smoking, but I'm a woman myself and have been trying to quit smoking ever since I started, when I was aged 18 (I'm now 57!!). I've tried absolutely everything and many times over...hypnotherapy, willpower, nicotine replacement therapy, acupuncture, sprays, gum, all sorts really but nothing works for me. The withdrawal symptoms and craving when trying to quit overpower me completely and feel worse than hell on earth.
