If mcdonalds delivered food they could make a lot of money out of it. So why don't they deliver food?

because their food tastes best the minute after its made? :D quite good question and it crossed my mind a few times too, but yes as others said, probably because most people take $2 orders etc. besides their food is nit really a real food like some restaurants deliver, so guess at one point its good they don't abuse that since then more people could get sick just from ordering junk food. its there for us for when we desire something tasty, but its not like for routine ordering, you get sick of their food quite fast despite it being so delicious, if you eat it few days constantly.

This is what I thought too, that their food doesn't taste so good after an hour or more... at least their fries are good only right after they were made. But if they deliver in some countries, I don't know...

To deliver to a regular neighborhood doesn't make much sense to me. You would spend more money on gas than the customer is spending. My friends and I, however, do think it would be a very good idea for them to deliver to our college campus. There is a mcdonalds within a very short walking distance and college students can get pretty lazy. We all said that we would pay a delivery fee in order to have some chicken nuggets brought to us late at night. They wouldn't have to spend any money on gas and they would get a lot of money from the college.

I agree with Kingparker on this one - just because yeah, usually when I go to McDonalds, it's about $2 for a coffee and a side salad (which is what I normally get when I do go). Of course, on the other hand, if they were doing a catering-type thing to offices, I am sure they could make bank off of it.

I don't know, that is a pretty good question though. But when you come to think about it, a burger and some fries only cost less than $6.00. And people usually order less than $10.00. So, would it worth it to make such delivery? Because we usually tip those delivery person $2.00 or more. So, if McDonald really wants make a delivery service, customers should order more than $20 at least I think.

Mcdonalds is allways busy. So they can deliver to more people in one time.

You could deliver a few burgers on a bike, but you would need a truck to handle the excessive packaging!

If someone with a car or a bike undertook to collect from McDonald's (and other places) for a price, they could make a lot of money!

I dont think it would be very profitable for them really. They mix up the orders enough at mcdonalds without having to worry about delivering it places having the orders wrong having to drive back fix the orders and drive back to redeliver it. If there was a very busy office where everyone wanted a bunch of orders they could call in an order at mcdonalds and have it delivered but if it was just someone in their home wanting the food delivered I dont think most people would want to do that.

I was thinking about a mcdonald thas only serve and one that only delivers like domino's pizza. There should be no problem getting orders since mcdonalds is very popular...

There's really a huge market for food deliveries. People are sometimes too lazy to go out to buy their burgers and would prefer having it delivered. That I guess was also a factor considered by McDonald's here in my country since they have been offering delivery services for years now. But just recently they charged a fee for delivery ($1, actually) unlike in the past where it was free as long as you meet a certain amount of purchase. (Roughly $5 worth and you get your food delivered to your house)

Holland is a very small country. I seriously start to think that mcdonalds deliveryservice can only apply in big cities which we don't have here :(

you know i often wondered that as well, but with me i usualy only buy from dollar menu under 5,00 unless special occasion and we splurge.. oh no now i want a grilled chicken ceaser salad from there its the bes you ..extra dressing and crouton yummie my favorite.. but if they did deliver they would have to set a amount that you would have to spend before they delivered like our pizza places does you have to order at least 10.00 or more some is higher then that..but i would love it if mcdonalds delivered .. eve though im close and its not a far drive.. i just would be happy if they stayed open 24 hours all of them.. we have 4 mcdonalds in our home town.. and only one that stays open 24 hours and it is on the other side of town..

As far as I know and aware, fast food restaurants like McDonald, Burger King, and Wendys do not offer delivery service. Like a comment here, it may not be economical to offer delivery service since people would not be ordering 100 burgers at a time. Typically people would order something from a value menu or single sides. Even if you go for a value meal, each person would not expect to spend closed to $10. Typically, you would need to spend a minimum amount of money to have food delivered. Pizza delivery is common since you are expected to spend about $10 more or less. Plus, pizza is bigger and can transported in cars. A pizza delivery person can handle multiple boxes at a time on his/her route. Another common food delivery service is Chinese food. Same as pizza, people are expected to spend at least $10. There are some restaurants or Chinese food places that may take orders less than $10.00

Hi in2day, macdonalds probably don't deliver because they are making millions and millions any way...so if its not broken don't try to fix it....there would be much more cost to start delivering it would think just for insurance alone.....

If not broken you can try to improve. of course it costs money the first few years, but when a company is succesfull allready they can make up for it in no time. Starting something new allways costs money.
