I experimented tonight and made a breakfast ring. I found the recipe online and want to make it Easter morning for my family but I needed to know it would turn out good. I just made it and it is fabulous! I may make it every weekend.
It is super simple. YOu lay out crescent rolls in a circle leaving about a 2 inch circle in the middle. for the filling I used scrambled eggs, sauteed onions, sauteed breakfast sausage (chopped up), and about 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar and mozzarella. I think it would be good with bacon or chopped peppers. I mixed all the ingredients together and then spooned it on to the base of the crescent rolls. keep it even and on the rolls. Then carefull lift the small side of the crescent triangles over the top and tuck under the bottom - this forms the ring. It looks like a wreath. I then brushed egg whites over the top and baked for 20 minutes at 375 degrees. YUM! I highly recommend this easy recipe!

Hello Trv. I'm always on the look out for good new recipes and this sounds like a good one. The only problem I see for my family is that they don't get up at the same time so the ring would be cold and I don't think it would be good cold. I could warm it n the microwave but that changes the taste. I'm going to make banana french toast for Easter morning. It calls for cinnamon bread cut into cubes and soaked over night with eggs, milk, and maple syrup. bake it for forty minutes add hot more maple syrup, bananas and pecans and serve.
