Ahhh, diets. They are everywhere, aren't they?! Well, I am on a diet right now, and it has only been 5 days, but I feel like giving up : (
"They" say that diets are hard work, if they were not, then EVERYone would be skinny. I think that's is true, and the thing that is as hard as GOING on a diet is STAYING on one, but you know what, the summer is coming. It would be nice if I could fit into some really skimpy, cute clothes this year...emphasis on the SKIMPY. Why should SHE be able to wear those skimpy clothes and not ME??!

Okay...
I am with you is HARD WORK, but you will be different on your life and am sure you want to wear something you want.
I know because my wife she is feeling the same way you feel.
If I am your place I will go running or walking everyday just 1 hour.
I believe, you will lose weight.
Take care and keep healthy.

Thanks for your encouragement. VERY hard work!! I want to eat SO bad!!!
I have a teenaged son, so I have to cook for him. Tonight he wants hot dogs, and chips and turkey and all kinds of other food. I DO want to wear something nice and skimpy in the summer, but I feel like giving up :(
I am going to try to hang in there!! I think I can do it.

How skimpy are you talking about here? Like those tank top, or bikinis for this summer? If that is too hard to be on diet, you should adjust it, and not over starving yourself because you want to wear those clothing. Your health is number one consideration. I knew that most girls like to be beautiful, but without good health, they can't be beautiful as they want it to be.

Yes, I'm talking about the tank tops and the bikini's. If other women wear them, I want to be able to wear them TOO. But I also want to be healthy, that is another reason why I am on this diet. Being overweight is not healthy. I always seem to feel tired or lazy.
I am trying to get healthy on this diet, but fitting into skimpy clothes is a bonus.

Um not eating?Liquid dieting? unless your blending your normal food into a shake and then drinking it.not eating isnt healthy so I would think you would want to eat if you wanted to keep cooking your son dinner at night or even being there for your son as he grows and actually being around longer then this summer to wear the skimpy clothes you want. Just because people are skinny, doesnt mean they dont eat..
Not eating isnt going to do anything but give you an eating disorder..You can loose weight perfectly fine with eating, you just need to control how much you eat..
its much less painful then what your doing now,and your not going to make yourself sick..Not only that is your son sees you not eating because you think your fat...what happends when he think he is fat?.....
I wish you luck on any path you decide to follow, I too know how it feels to not beable to fit in "skimpy clothes" not that I want to but if I did I couldnt and that sucks...BUT I have a daughter and eating disorders occur more in females then in makes BUT is not exempt to males..I't still happends...
I want to teach her that she need to be proud of her body and if she thinks shes needs to change things do it the right and healty way..And how can I teach her that but do the opposite of what I say,Makes me a hipocrite..and what kid wants to listen to a hypocrite parent??..

Liquid dieting can be done in a healthy way, so can fasting, but one has to know their own body, and do some homework on how to do things right. And get under a Dr.s' supervision if need be.
Fasting and liquid diets are quite common. My friend had lap-band surgery and the Dr. had her do a fast before she got the surgery done, and after the surgery she was drinking just liquids.
I have been fasting on and off for years, and what I have found is that I actually feel more energetic when I don't eat, as long as I drink a lot of fluids. I DO feel really hungry for about the first 3 days, but after that, the hunger subsides a bit. Then that is when I have to deal with conquering the HABIT of WANTING to eat. I want to eat!!! I smell it, I think about it, I want it.
There are lots of channels on youtube that show people successfully fasting to lose weight, but it is hard to do.
You said that I can lose weight perfectly fine eating, well, it is HARD for me to eat only just a little bit. Once I start, I do not want to stop. It is easier for me to eat NO chips than to try to just eat ONE chip. I would rather eat NO cookie at all, than try to eat just ONE cookie. If I had the discipline to eat properly, I would NOT have a weight problem.
Thanks for wishing me good luck on this diet. I feel afraid that I will fail. People think that I can't do it, but I know I can. Sometimes it is just hard to imagine a slimmer me. I have fallen into the role of the funny, fat, friend and I don't want to BE her anymore. I used to want to look sexier to attract men, now I realize that I want a better body FOR ME. I want a better quality of life.
My son is my biggest supporter. He has watched me fast on and off over the years, even HE has fasted, but for health purposes, NOT because of his weight. When you fast, the body gets a chance to rest from having to work digesting food. Fasting can be very calming to the body.

wow taking only water for 5 days is not really an easy work, I hope you attain the weight that you like, then maybe after fasting try to eat fruits and veggies and skip the sweets and meat first until you attain your dream weight. goodluck!:)

Yes, only drinking water IS hard work. But I'm drinking milk and coffee and soda too. I have, in the past, gone on a water fast for 12 days. It was hard, so I stayed in the bed the whole time. By the end of the fast I felt really weak, so I ate a couple bites of a bagel and drank some orange juice and I instantly felt better.
After this fast, well, actually it is more of a liquid diet than a fast, I plan to make sure the majority of my food intake consists of fruits and vegetables. Eating those things is so much better than what I tend to feed myself. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE to eat fruits and vegetables, but then I also eat McDonald's and pancakes, and lots of Chinese food and on and on and on. THAT is where the problems come from.

Aren't you able to see some results of your 5 day liquid diet by now? Obviously, it is good to go on a diet you think will work for you, but the main thing that I have beneficial in working is just eating a balanced diet, exercising, and eating smaller portions.

You are right, I am able to see results from this diet already. Thank you for mentioning that, because I tend to be focused on all the food that I am not eating.
Yesterday I was driving in my car and I noticed that I had a little more room in the driver's seat than I normally have, so yes, I am seeing results. And today, the pair of pants that I'm wearing fit a little looser.
I'm glad you posted this comment because it brought to my attention to think about the RESULTS of this diet. I had lost sight of THAT until you mentioned it here. Funny, all I've been thinking about really, is the food (more specifically the lack THEREOF).
Yes, eating a balanced diet, exercising, eating smaller portions, most of us know TO do it, but we don't PRACTICE it and therein lies the problem. When I finish this fast, I definitely want to try my best to eat better and make smarter lifestyle choices.
