wisdom teeth and its annoyances

Have you had yours already grow out? I'm 22 and my both upper wisdom's are still growing, 1st is out by full crown (all 4 angles) and never really hurt, but right side is out only by one angle and other 3 are like still pretty much sticking outta gums. Few days ago this tooth started to hurt really bad, so for the past few days I've been on painkillers. Went to visit dentist today too, I got an emergency one and she said she can't do anything? and suggested me to gargle sage's tea and take painkillers. how neglecting, isn't it? then she said if in a week or so pain still persists I should get back to my dentist and she should refer me to a surgical ward and they should cut it out. Now hours later after taking painkiller I can still feel sharp pain when going through it with my tongue, or when biting on it (i usually eat on that side) and its so annoying, I feel like numbing, tingling painful sensation up there around tooth. The thing is I have enough space left and its not decayed or anything, so I don't know why it hurts so much? did you have any problems like that with your wisdoms and did you keep them or had to have them extracted?

I'm so sorry it hurts and the dentist's attitude is like this Apparently they don't like to bother with wisdom teeth, but still...
Three of mine have grown out, but while they were growing, they caused pain sometimes, I couldn't really tell where it was hurting, it was my whole jaw. When they stopped growing, the pain went away too, so I kept them. I guess I was lucky because my dentist even agreed to fill two of my wisdom teeth when they got cavities.
Maybe yours is hurting because it's still growing, and the pain will go away soon. But if you suffer from it maybe it's better to get it removed. The dentist should do an x-ray though, to see what position your wisdom teeth are in, and should they really be taken out... Clove oil might help with the pain too.
Best of luck and hopefully it will stop hurting.

thank you very much. yes, dentists are kinda neglecting here and not kind either when doing proceures. however yes, its like an iceberg, one side is out and other is not, barely sticking out, so guess thats why it hurts so much :/ I hope this pain goes a way within a week or so, cause I dont wanna relay on painkillers..guess if it persists I indeed will have to go get it surgically cut out. yes I got xray, only its not complete for that tooth, so guess if it's not ok I'll have to go do it again and they they'll decide what to do. hopefully pain stops and I don't have to go through removing process. thanks for your reply :)

I have mine in the upper and one in the lower but the in the lower is not fully grown yet but it bothers me sometimes and one time it causes to swelled up my cheek. I went to the dentist and had it checked and X-rayed, and my dentist told me that I have to remove my two wisdom teeth even though it is growing normally but according to her, wisdom tooth will just bother me and I don't need it and plus it is hard to clean it since it is too far to reach the toothbrush.

I think every one of us do have the same experience. When my very first wisdom tooth erupts, It was so painful. The reason why it happened because I do have a complete tooth at that time. I didn't extracted my wisdom tooth. I extracted my 1st and 3rd molar and let my wisdom tooth stays.

I have my four wisdom tooth intact as they were. Luckily they don't give me headache hehe. But as i heard from dentists wisdom tooth are the blacksheep among the sets. Coz some people have wisdom tooth that aren't erupted, they stayed sleep behind the gums and some are just like yours its angle is not in a right position that caused ache. That's why some people choose to extract their wisdom tooth.

I am sorry your going through so much pain. I recently just had all 4 of mine removed. And while it wasn't the most comfortable thing in the world. It was well worth it. I don't experience anymore pain. I had eye pain, headaches, jaw pain, you name it I had it. Mine were impacted though. The procedure wasn't difficult at all. It took them about 15-20 min to remove my teeth. And the dentist later told me I had difficult teeth to remove. They could have fooled me. The whole process was simple and easy. When i got home, I mistakenly didn't take any pain killers because i thought I was done with everything. Well when all the medication wore off I felt it all. It was pretty painful and uncomfortable. But It only lasted about 2 or 3 days. After that it gets much better. And If i had stayed on top of it with the pain medication, I most likely would have had no issues at all. I hope you feel better! And if you have to go through the removal process. Just know that it isn't so bad. As long as you eat something, and take your pain medication right away. Good luck I really hope you get better.
