Lenten season in the Philippines

I am currently in Bangkok. When I was in the Philippines I actually feel that the Lenten season was very boring... No "good" programs shown in tv, malls are closed and I didn't realize that I would miss that now that I am in Bangkok :(

Hehe, really? You must really miss the Philippines to even miss one of the most boring weeks of the year. But I think, even though it is boring, people should value this time. People also need a break from work. The best thing to do might be to bond with one's family or friends at home or in the neighborhood. Watching tv is not a good idea to do on lenten week. there are so many things that can be done.

oh yeah, it is the most boring week of all, but if you have cabled tv and internet, it should not be as boring as it would normally be. :D

Actually, I was also out of the country during this week, a reason why I was also absent in mylotting. I guess I did miss the whole christian tradition of Lent because we were in a foreign country, except that we did attend a Good Friday mass and we didn't eat meat for the day. Other than those two, we kinda forgot we were in the Lenten season. I personally share the feeling of boringness during the Lenten season but I think it also kinda make me force to do some self-reflecting about my life and of course, some family-bonding time. But I guess, it just like any other week for me. Except for the scheduled itinerary on my trip, it was pretty much okay.

You miss it probably because you in another foreign country. Even though your Lenten celebration way back when you were still in the Philippines was quite boring, still you miss it. I think you would more miss it if you had a very productive time during those time. Should could have celebrated it together with your family.
