Freezes Up

What do you do when your computer freezes up? It happens to me and when I stuck I end up having to shut it down. I wonder what cause this? Do have any ideas/suggestions?

I had that happen and I had to do a system restore to an earlier date.

try checking for a virus scan and scan ur computer for viruses...

Sometime it does happened with me.
You need to check what processes are active in background.
You can check from task manger.
If any process rather than system or window are use more ram just Kill it.
and still same problem occur it must be virus.
anything particular you do and it freezes???

It really depends on how it freezes. If you mean, every thing on screen stops - including the clock and the mouse movement - and then possibly, your monitor goes black or switches off, it's most likely a video card problem. But it restarts again OK (probably needing a hard disk check) and works again for some time.
It could also be your CPU overheating.
Probably, something is just getting too hot. Try to clean the dust and dirt out of the fans and heatsinks, and watch that all fans are actually turning freely.
