Why does my husband have to be so difficult? part 2

Oh and I forgot to add that just last night my husband asked me if I would buy him a guitar if he could figure out which one that he would like. And I told him that he doesn't treat me kind enough. What happened this morning just confirmed that. I wouldn't mind buying my husband a guitar if that's what he wanted. I don't have a problem getting things for him. Especially if I have the money and I know there's something he wants. He is the one who throws a fit about spending $5 extra dollars on a pair of earrings or something similar. He doesn't think about the things he says and does. He said he would be happy about me buying him a new guitar last night, and just this morning he throws a fit about buying a $5 item. Buying him a new guitar now is the furthest thing from my mind.

From the sounds of it, the gift buying thing just isn't working out right now. Even though that might be the way you think he should show his love for you, apparently that just isn't how he does it. Are there other things that he does that would show his love for you? Maybe he shovels the driveway or fixes the cars or lets you be in charge of the remote. I heard about a book called "The 5 Love Languages". What means 'love' to one person doesn't necessarily mean 'love' to another. Sounds like gift giving means love to you (your love language) but your husband has another way to show his love for you. If you really think he does still love you, then you might just have to accept he shows his love in a different way then what you want. Try to focus on what he does do and not what he doesn't do. If you can praise him for some good things that he does, he might be more open at some point for a discussion about how gift giving is important to you. If you are really questioning whether he loves you at all, then that is a different matter.

Why do you continue to spoil him, it should be the other way around. He is not a man, he is a child. I would not buy him any kinds of guitar. He would spend more time with it than he does with you no doubt. Does he earn his own money?

my opinion let him buy his own things especially if they expensive. and you buy your own . you are his wife not his mother .. therefore he should be equal and treat you as such . and if he bickers let him bicker until he treats you the way you want to be treated than things should go back to normal if you keep allowing him to be that way he will never change. a man goes as far as you allow him too..
