What is the worth of being engaged?

I am 19,from Chittagong in Bangladesh.All of my friends are engaged in relationships.But i am not,its not that i haven't tried.Man usually prefers to choose his partner at a certain age when he feels someone besides him is needed.But I guess have the same feel.My mind changes itself severally.Sometime it tells me "its the time to think about career,sometimes it makes me blamed to be yet single.All of these two works contrary every time i think about.I am confused about myself.It should be told that i love a girl,she's one of my close friends.But she always ignores me laughing at my proposal and it hurts me a lot.I've been tired of thinking.but it really does a fact when i feel lonely.What should i do?

Getting engaged is usually a move showing that one is in a committed relationship that will definitely end up in marriage. When to get engaged is usually a couple’s choice. It is not definite at what age one should get engaged. However some people get engaged before they go on to develop their careers so that they’ll remind themselves that there is someone with whom they’ve made a commitment.

HELLO there! Isn't too soon for you to get engaged? I mean, your'e 19 and I guess you are still studying (please correct me if i'm wrong) so you should focus first on your GOALS and CAREER. You still need to do a lot of things for your self. Discover and enjoy life.
BEING engaged to someone, needs a lot of commitment and LOVE of course. It takes a lot of time. DON'T RUSH THINGS or you'll might end up regretting.
