Well there was a book at my store the other day that I didn't have the money to get. I read a little bit of it and it was a book on natural remedies. Some of them I had not read online. These are natural remedies for Women problems. Yes folks, I mean Menstrual problems. I either bleed too much or too little. Now I do know that raspberry tea helps me a little bit and that is all fine and lovely dandy, however I've not been drinking it regularly. I've tried Chasteberry / Vitex but not wanting to try that again. What I need to do is eat and drink healthier. I need to start setting money aside and buying healthier foods and drinks for myself and really paying attention to my body. Trust me I AM SO TIRED Of constantly having to wear a pad! Anyone else have their period more then they don't?

The Birth Control pills never helped me because I didn't take them on time. I've since read that they and any other form of birth control can be dangerous. I'd rather not use them as one day I do want to have a child. I like Natural.

Yeah I mean there are definitely good reasons to be on them and some can stop using them and have a baby faster, but I've heard sometimes it takes years to have a baby after you stop birth control.

I no longer have a period. I am sure there are many remedies to help cramps and so forth. But, if you are having longer periods than you should then you should see a doctor. You could have something wrong like a cyst or tumor. It could explode and make you very sick. I would check into it.

I have realized over the years that my periods are directly porportionate with my stress levels. Maybe more so then other women. I don't have the money for a doctor, and I won't take birth control. I do know that I need to be more proactive in my "lady" health however. I have had a papsmear done before and I believe it was normal. I've been told all the doctors can do is give me birth control. I won't do that so it's the healthy / natural way for me.

I do drink Raspberry tea and it helps me with the heavy flow. I've not been having any flow here lately though.

Are you not having regular flow? That's not good.

I have big menstrual problems and it's bothering me too. I bleed so much every menstruation. And I also always experience extreme menstrual cramps. However, I cannot make myself to go to the doctor to check-up because I'm saving for something and check ups are a little pricey. Right now, I am doing remedies which doesn't actually make the pain go away but lessen it.

Go to your local grocers or food market and pick up something called Raspberry Tea, it will help your menstrual cycle regulate a bit as it "flexes" your uterus. I would also reccomend checking your iron levels and taking Iron regularly. I know the pain of heavy heavy periods, and these things have helped me in the past.

Thanks for the recommendation of raspberry tea. I will find that next time I go to the grocery. I used to take iron supplements before when I was anemic, I don't know what it does to heavy periods.

Iron pills for periods? Well I don't think it does anything negative. It helps replenish the nutrients in your blood from when you lose it due to the menses though.

I am pretty regular so if I was to be out of the norm, I would go to the doctor. You may want to go get it checked out.

It runs in my family. I don't have insurance to get it checked out and I'd rather go natural before anything else. I ordered some fertilitea which I talked about on here before, and it has helped. This month will be the first period since I stopped drinking the tea, and so far so good. It feels much more normal. I may order another bag or order some vitamins to help with it as well.

It's more then just diet and rest. I've got it under control more so, but I've relied on herbs and good sense as well. Hope your wife can find a way to cope, there are teas etc out there she can drink to help her out a lot.

Sometimes I wish that all our menstrual problems had solutions in books but unfortunately that is not the case. Everyone has a unique body that responds differently to different things. Our menstrual cycle is affected by so many things. For instance hormonal changes caused by family planning methods and mood changes. However healthy practices go a long way in ensuring that we have a healthy menstrual cycle.

I used fertilitea and it helped a great deal. I may order another bag. I try to do things the healthy and natural way. Back even a century or two ago that's how things were done, more natural.. So that is what I try to do.

After I started having that problem it was discovered I had fibroids and endometriosis, and as a result I had a complete hysterectomy. One thing that can help is to increase your iron intake. It is a never ending cycle, you become anemic from blood loss and anemia makes you more prone to bleeding. Try eating raisins for snacks.

Period problems run in my family. My aunt had them so bad when she was a kid. She had told me of times that made me feel so bad. I don't have them as bad as I used to. I drink Raspberry tea and it seems to help. I've tried Vitex Root. I would much rather eat healthier and Raisins are one of my favorite treats. Lately I've not been bleeding at all. The past two weeks I've probably bled once or twice, I had one where I "gushed" and that was it. I've not been drinking the tea either...

Does your aversion to medication include birth control? Because I was put on birth control very young because my periods were so bad I got anemic and would have to miss school. Starting in the fourth grade! Birth control regulated them for me and they were not as bad. But I totally advocate the healthier choices. I'm trying to make those myself to help lift my mood.

Definitely birth control! I used to take it, but no more! I refuse to take it! It can do more harm then good Studies have shown. I'd rather deal with the periods, that seem to be getting better, then to have to deal with medicine. Stress is a big factor for me, I need to start taking B-Complex

Actually I used to take red raspberry leaf capsolues when the bleeding was heavy in my cycle. I think if you are having that kind of troubles with your cycle lasting so long you may need to talk to your Dr. The Dr may put you on some sort of birth control to regulate your cycle or even suggest and D&C as that's what others I've heard in similar situations needed to do. GL in finding something to help with your issues.

When I first started my period years ago I was a heavy caffeine drinker. My periods would literally be so bad that I'd be on the bathroom floor curled in a ball and crying. I hated it. Since then I've had times where I haven't had a period, times where that is all I did, and times where I bled so much it literally "cleaned me out". That is to say, I looked it up once and found out the sweet smell emiting from my lady regions was because I had literally been CLEANED because of all the blood. Lately my periods have been more odd. Like right now I am not bleeding. I don't belive in birth control, I'd rather do it the natural way. I don't have the money to go the doctor either. The Raspberry Tea works for me and if I can just drink it twice a day and do it regularly I know that my periods will continue to be regular. I also need to change my diet.

Hi there, I can feel your predicament being abnormal in menses as I. My main problem really is the irregularity of it and that I am bleeding too little. One time I had heavy flow then I started complaining. Maybe God is starting to get confused as to what I really want? Right now I am taking Dandelion capsules and Milk Thistle, but mainly because of my liver problem which is what I am trying to address. But since these herbs are known to normalize hormones, it's like hitting two birds with one stone. It might help for us to really eat healthier, as lately, I am and starting to feel changes. Good changes. Exercise seemed to help make it more regular. I couldn't pinpoint which one I did right but maybe there's a synergistic effect of all these combined?

I will have to try the Dandelion Capsules and Milk Thistle then, but for me the Raspberry Tea seems to be helping. You may want to look into it and see if it will help regulate your cycle, but I know it's mostly used for heavy periods. Eating Healthier is definitely a good choice but it's not an easy one. I'm trying to eat healthier myself.
