Today as I had been browsing search engine randomly I came accross this phrase "Success is never final. Failure is never fatal. This phrase is said by Joe Paterno. I did not read further but started thinking - yes what is the ultimate end of success or failure?
As I think, winning or succeeding in itself is not an end. Whatever win it brings success but doe it last long or is there always a threat to lose someday? Even when we speak about spirituality, if reaching Heaven is an ultimate end and the real success, then what about after reaching heaven? Is life going to be static?
Next all of know that the one who fails always stands a chance to try again and again and if you are adamant without stepping backward out of frustration then surely you shall find an alternative. Neither failure is an end in itself evn though that particular chance you lose. So man has always a hope to try again and he faces always a danger to lose what he gains.

Hi,
The definition of success differs from individual to individual. Some may be successful in getting money but not in getting love, some may be successful in getting love of his family but lacks money. So I think no man is fully successful in life. ur want are goes on increasing and we can't be fully satisfied. So as you said there is no end for success and failure. We always come across with success and failure till the end in our life.

To say that there is and end to success or failure is quite misleading. Life does not stop when we succeed or fail at something. When you succeed at something, you are likely to face several challenges ahead which you may fail or succeed at. On the other hand, if you fail at something do not give up. Pick yourself up and keep trying you will succeed.

That's a good phrase you found there. A very true phrase. I would say that success is usually the beginning. Beginning of engaging in whatever we are successul in. Evolution works through our bodies and minds. We will always be looking to move on into better and more successful states. A taste of success is transient as will only breed more desire for success. Failure can either work for us or against us. Some pepole will give up at failure, others will be more stimulated to work harder..
As a Zen practitioner, I see both success and failure as illusions because they are not permanent. I practice meditation each day and see that spiritual enlightenment is not a destination at all, and that is the journey that is the destination, and that therefore a destination is an illusion. My intent as a Zen practitioner is to always give the fullest attention that I can to anything that I do. That in itself is an end to success and failure, because it is in the doing, and not the achieving that matters. _Derek

Everything that once begun, has to end at some point, or so they say.
I think it is possible to keep your success, it just gets hard to 'hold the balance' and not to fall. Failure, as you said it yourself, isn't the end, well, unless you start doing nothing, then nothing's going to happen.
Why does the world has this 'everything-ends-eventually-thing' system, well, i believe, that is, so we could never get stuck, and/or, so humanity wouldn't destroy itself. I mean, c'mon, if God created the universe, he would never wish for us to destroy us by ourselves, so he probably added some system/cycles in our world how it functions.
As for the ultimate goal that could be heaven, well, I am not quite sure about it. From religion point of view God lives outside of time, therefore same goes for heaven and heaven would never fall. We can only guess what heaven might hold for us, but none of us, human beings, can be sure about it. I too, even as believer in God, am a little skeptical about Bible. (I believe in God in my own way)
So whatever ends, begins anew, whatever begins, eventually ends - same goes for success and failure. (Probably - i am only speculoating, i can't be certain)

You are only a failure if you think that you have failed. It's true, success is never final, but it you can continue with that success if you keep working on it.
