So I just came home from a lunch at my youngest daughter´s followed by eggpainting and then searching for chocolate eggs in the garden. The children went to see if the rabbit was around (my eldest granddaughter took to small ones around the block) while the "rabbits" planted the eggs where Sofía (1 1/2 years old) couls see them.
The nicest part was the painting of hardboiled eggs. It reminded me of my youth. What did you do for Easter? Share!

My 2 granddaughters and I dyed some eggs and made a cake.We all got together at my daughters house on Saturday. The granddaughters had some of their cousins there. The grownups hid the eggs for the kids and we all sat around and talked. It was a really good day.Love seeing the kids have fun and play together.

WE hardboiled 4 eggs for the 2 younger kids to paint, but we saved those for a shepheard pie for the next day. We bought some chocolate eggs with beautiful wrappers to hide in the garden.

Well the eggs get eaten afterwards. They are hard boiled. Not sure how the eggs came about in Easter. But it is a tradition we have always done.Cook eggs, dye them, hide them a few times and then eat them.We always use it as a small family get together. We all have fun anyway and spend time with the family.I had worked with a guy one time that is Jewish and I remember him talking about some of the traditions he had and how different it is from some of our baptist christian ways

Tell me , bretay , what do you do with the eggs after finding them ?
What is all the idea with the eggs ?
Easter is not a holiday we celebrate , we have a paralel holyday called "passover".
The only thing we hide there is a piece of what we call "maza" ( an unleavened bread.) The one who finds it gets money from each and every family member.
That is a tradition. during passover we also are not supposed to eat bread , or many things that are not kosher for passover.
Passover is a jewish holiday for remembering how GOD took us out from egypt from salvation to freedom.

My Sofia is a year and a half but she had her first egg hunting session although I don´t think she understood much about it. Anyway, she painted eggs, painted helself and her brother and sister showed the the chocolate eggs and got the wraps off for her.

Some children walk before and some learn slower. Don´t worry. My youngest daughter started to speak at almost 3 and I was very worried as the eldest started a little over one year. But now my daughter is a lawyer and a judge (she´s Sofía´s mom). I did smoke when I was pregnant. Then noone knew it was harmbul.

We've had a egg seeking weekend. My niece and nephew were here for awhile on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and each day we hunted eggs and they did enjoy it. I hid them some and then they wanted to make a game of it. It was a real treat to watch them look for the eggs, though a few times they got mad at each other. They are 11 and 5 years old.

We had a session of egg painting at first and then came the seeking of eggs. It was difficult to explain to Sofia that chocolate eggs had wraps that had to be taken off.

I didn´t know that this tradition of painted eggs and the easter rabbit were also celebrated in Chile, I thought it was an anglosaxon tradition. Easter here, is more a religious celebration, to be true, I just stay home, and rent some movies, but, most people here, either go to the church, or to the beach on this days.

I hope that everything works well with you, friend. Sometimes we need to take one day at a time. I´m doing that lately and I have had my very good moments.

We could only get small eggs that would be safe for the baby to eat, but still they all had fun. My daughter made some hardboiled eggs to paint too so we would have two sizes.
