diabetes is not that hard to understand. What is important is you are particular with the normal values of blood sugar. some books would say that the normal values are from 60-90 while other books mention about 60-110. Diabetes in an increase in your blood sugar. What about blood sugar? When there is an increase of blood sugar there can be insulin inefficiency. What is the function of insulin? its easy to remember, it acts as keys to open the calcium channel path allowing the sugar to get inside the cell. When there is increase in blood sugar, what usually happens? An increase in blood sugar in the blood causes blood viscosity which means that the blood is sticky cause decrease oxygen distribution to major organs and some parts of the body. When kidneys are not receiving much oxygen, it releases a hormone ANP that triggers the adrenal medulla to produce this hormone called renen, when this hormone renen is converted its output is the aldosterone which attracts sodium causing water re absorption and increasing the blood pressure which can result to hypertension. Severe complications of diabetes are heart failure and kidney failure.

You have very nicely explained the relationship between diabetes and hypertension starting from impaired glucose utilization to activation of renin angiotensin pathway that causes release of aldosterone and vasoconstriction resulting in hypertension.Apart from that insuline resistance may also be a cause of diabetes in which insuline produces less effect or the effectiveness of insuline decreases significantly to act properly on glucose.
