Onion is commonly known only as the vegetable that we usually used in almost all of our foods. But unknown to everyone there are 4 benefits of onion.Onion as source of vitamin A,C,& E.Next is they are a very good source of FOLIC ACID,which as we are all aware that,it can be found mostly in fruits and onion is a vegetable. And then Onion is a good source of IRON and last but not the least,Onion as anti-bacterial and infection fighting vegetable,it boost the body protection against infection and it is also known that if you are suffering from colds or flu,cut an onion and place it near your bed and you will get well as onion absorbs the bacteria that causes the infection.
I really don't like onion much but upon reading this,I might give it a try and eat more of it.

Knowing this, I should eat more, too, thank you for sharing this information.
For some reason when I eat raw onions, I get sore throat, so I don't eat much, though I don't have this problem it I cook it for a few minutes. That would destroy part of its vitamin content though.
I heard that a cut onion can absorb the bacteria in the room, I think it's time to try that too.

cooking it for few minutes would not extract its vitamin contents according to the article that I read. With having sore throat in eating it raw,no idea but maybe because of it's strong pungent odor

Hi Shenlyn, it is good to know those beneficial elements you can get from eating onion. Onion is one of my favorites when it comes to spices especially the red one. What I only knew is it is an anti oxidant and thanks for the additional information. It gives me an idea to eat onions regularly.
Mobhomeir here..

I was often chided before by my late Mother because I am a very "voracious creation" when it comes to eating onions and garlics, because I can eat it raw even without a soy sauce or "patis" mixed into it, It may seem quite unbelievable but I'm saying to you that I can I really it eat raw, despite its pungent taste and smell. I was often admonished because my mother was too apprehensive I might consume all the stocks in the kitchen and in the fridge , sometimes it's just too expensive to buy these vegetables in the market.

well...well...that is indeed nice - I can see my daughter in you..hahaha.At the age of 3 ,she actually eat onions & garlic even when it's raw and I didn't even ask her too,she just told me she loves it given the fact that I am the exact opposite,I eat onions that are cooked not raw,and I don't eat garlic at all...so everytime our dish have this two,she always eat mine..
