What's your reason for quiting a job

April 9, 2012 10:59am CST
I graduated from school for 2 years, and I changed jobs frequently. Low income, work to late and unsafe to go home... these are the most improtant reason. What's your excuses for quiting a job?

if you like your job and the people you work with is very important. It makes you work better and enjoy your work. to quit a job would mainly be offering a better paying job and unsafe..

I quit a job whenever I get bored with it. I like more challenging jobs and it is really important that I am happy with it for me to stay. I am not after with the salary or the position.. What I really valued is the challenging job role and that my demands in schedule are both met. The last job I had was a very boring one. I was in a separate room doing a paperless job. There are documents to check and affix my signature and from time to time I have to sign documents even I am at another floor of our office. It was a very relaxed type of job.. meetings, emailing, instructing...and I always watched the clock for the time of out. There were times I even thinking what I would do for a day. I also hate my co workers who obviously felt jealous with my position as I entered there with a very hot position that everyone was aspiring to have. Sorry for them I got the position and I successuly handled it eventhough I got so bored with it.

You are a boss? Well, no wonder they jealous with you. I jealous with my boss about his ability and salary, but I also respect him cause he deserves it. I hope one day I can be a boss too.

Yes, I only instruct and signed docs. I always have people under me. It comes with great responsibilities but the rewards are great.. but there are just other people who are so jealous of what other people have... there are so many of it in the corporate world. I came there to handle people who have been in the company for more than 2 decades.. I was entrusted to implement new changes.. it became successful. Just imagine how jealous they were. If you want to be a boss too, you must have a very strong personality. Believe in yourself and apply to higher positions and justify why you are the best candidate for the position.

ok my reason when i left is this work was the bad manager, she is so bossy and new knows nothing and wants to slave the people wround her, when she talks no one should answer or argue or you will be as if you are fighting her decisions, i can not stand people who think that they know everything while they are so clos and knows nothing seriously nothing she knows about our work she is new and every one hated her and wish she goes, i do not expect her to stay in her position if that how everyone feels aobut her from the first days

I met this type of boss once time! She is so mean to every employees, when you did something wrong, she kept on blaming you from time to time with loud voice which made you so embarrass.Although she saldom shout at me, I was afraid of her...when she shout at others, I usually thought that maybe I would be the next one...This was a heavy burden that even made me lost weight...

Well, in my case, my working life began back in 2004 & since then, I have had 3 jobs. Right now, I am in my 4th job. My reasons for quitting jobs have been anything from a boss who was "Satan" incarnate to lack of professional growth to no learning opportunity. Salary is not in this list. I have made my choices & need to face the consequences. I have been in my current job for approx 2 yrs now & if all goes well, I am looking at a long term commitment to this company. So far, it has offered me everything I have been looking for. Lets hope & pray that it remains status quo.. :)

I only had 2 full time jobs in 7years of my working life. I quit my first job because I got a better offer and I didn't see myself grow in that company. And, recently I left my career life, all together to be a full time mom and wife, which my husband supported a lot.

Being a housewife is more difficult than working. Many of my married friends told me. It's the greatest career of your life,I guess.

Well one time, I was wokring at burger king..It was just for extra cash so I didnt need need it. Anyway, someone asked me to take the trash out, fine by me whatever.but the trash can was unusually high,it was HUGE..I'm only 4'8 and the trash can didnt have the open sides..So I walk back in and ask if I can get someone to give me a hand the young manager says no everyone else has their own work to do you need to do your own work,so I explained my situation and he was like I dont think you even tried.Im like I dont want to try and make a mess trying.I alredy know I will not beable to get it over the side..so he like nope your ganna do and walked out to the trash can so I have to follow him of course...so hes standing there taunting me do it,throw the trash in the can do it.So by this time my blood is alreading boiling, then I throw the trash bag over the side only it doesnt go in,in hits the side of the trash can busts the bag all over the ground and looks at me and says well now you get to pick it up and walks away":O So then and there I knew I wouldnt not work well for this man @ all so I quit but before I did, I cussed him out! that was th best quitting day ever:)

I have left a job, because it was too far from my home and I had to commute every day. I liked the job, but I often had to work weekends, and that was a problem, because there were no trains early in the morning. I always had to ask someone to drive me. When I got a job offer from a place in my own town, I decided to leave the other job, because I wanted to work in my own town. I have left another job, because I didn't like the work schedule. I didn't have a fixed work schedule, sometimes I worked days and sometimes I worked nights, and every week I got a new schedule so it was very difficult to plan ahead. Another problem about that job was my safety. I had to walk from the train station to my home late at night and I didn't feel safe walking home alone, because the train station was in a bad neighbourhood.

Low salary alone would probably not the a reason for me to quit a job, if I can pay the bills from it. But I'm very likely to leave if I'm not treated as a human. I quit my office job because my boss found that I was good for everything and made me do ten people's job alone. I was made responsible for the mistakes that others did and I was criticized all the time, did this all for a ridiculously low salary. I thought I had to be happy to have a job at all, but there is a limit.

There are several reasons that we can mention why we quit a certain job. But we should not overdo it. Unless our job is contractual in nature, we should not make it a habit of jumping from one job to another. It might affect our reputation in the future. Other employers might take it against anybody if they have seen this kind of work record. It shows some part of our personality, like they might think that we are impatient because we can not stay long in one job. Best way to prevent this from happening is to make a research of the company that we want to be employed with. This way we would know their policies, schedule of work, salaries and benefits, and how they treat their employees. Have a good day xiaohong! Hope this helps.
