Procrastination

It seems that I'm a pro when it comes to procrastinating about something. I'm always the one that waits until the last minute to do everything and sometimes I get a little stressed.
Right now it's happening to me with my schoolwork. I have 3 papers due by the end of the semester which is in a few weeks and I've only been working on one so far. I don't have much done because I always put it off since I know I have more time to work on it. For some reason it's like I almost work better when I know I have something that's due within a few days. When I have a long time to do it, I just wait until the last few days to get it done on time.
I hate doing this but it seemsthat no matter how hard I try I still procrastinate. I'm actually doing it now
The internet can be really distracting sometimes when I have work to do on the computer. So today I'm trying to take some time to work on at least one of my papers and after I do a paragraph or two I give myself a little break to do some fun stuff on the internet.
How do you guys procrastinate?

I don't think you have the market cornered in procrastinating, as I'm sure I'm an expert on this as well.
I have to do something in the first week of May which could make or break my career. I've had a whole year to prepare for this, but until now I still feel I am not ready. There's still a lot things that I should do, or should have done.
But I am not motivated to do any of it still.

Oh yikes lol I think you might have me beat. I'm still in the process of trying to write my 3 papers and I believe they're due in 2 weeks. I'm finding it very hard to get motivated to write them because I'm always working and when I'm not working I'm trying to spend time with my boyfriend before he leaves in early May :(

Main reason why I procrastinate is due to all the distractions and the most common distraction of this time? Well no other than the internet. Thanks to networking sites that when you try to log in, time seems so fly and it flies by so swiftly that when you check out the time to start what you are tasked to do, you'll definitely be shock that you are already running out of time.
How do I procrastinate, I log in to networking sites of try to wander around the internet and then that accidental look at the time will put down my guard off.

The internet is definitely what causes most of my procrastination. It seems that I can't pay attention for more than 5 minutes before I have to wander off to a website that's actually interesting. It becomes pretty hard to get things done with the internet :(

That's what I keep doing. Every 5 minutes I go back on the internet to either check mylot or just look random things up. I need to stop so I can finish my paper

There are times when I procrastinate, right now I have a stack of papers that need to be graded, and I was working on them earlier when there was a tv show that i wanted to watch. Then I decided to check my email and have spent the last 25 minutes puttering around on the computer.

Well, I too have this problem... so I am always stressed... but somehow I have to improve my performance by doing the right things/assignments on time.
Let us move on friends with the strong determination of doing our job well!
Good luck!

I can relate so much to what you're talking about! Totally! Recently I have become a great procrastinator and also find myself having a very hard time to get going with my papers. (well, except for math!).
I agree the internet is a source to great distraction; it's easy to end up on pages like facebook where the procrastination continues. I also find myself listening to lots of electronic music which doesn't help me either. I find that the music removes my focus and determination in doing what I really have to do.
I think it requires discipline to stop procrastinating. For example, to stop being on the internet so much and to stop listening to music. (for me, that is). You have to let yourself be bored, methinks. If you find yourself sitting on a chair completely bored, chances are you will have an easier time starting writing the papers. That's what I think.
Good luck with the papers! Hope you can overcome your procrastination. I know I have to work on it too!

Thanks!! I'm trying to get better about not waiting until the last minute, but I'm having lots of trouble lol. I'm sure I'll finish things eventually...
