How important is the webpage title?

I tried to use Facebook to promote my site. Once in a while, I post it on my FB wall but with a little success. Only very few would be interested to open the site and much less who will join. With all the scams on the web, I know they are also afraid to join... Can you guys suggest a more effective webpage title? Something that is catchy but doesn't sound scammy! (If you're willing to help me give a title, you may also visit my site found on my profile so you will have an idea about my site.) or do you even think webpage title has an impact after all?

webpage title is really important and it should be catchy, simple and easy to remember. what is the niche or subject of your webpage? did you try to have a FB page for that? you could sponsor little giveaway to attract viewers if yours is not yet an established webpage. also there are blogs that are organizing giveaways which you could join for as low as $1 per link, may it be fb page link, or the GFC link of your site. i hope this will help you. happy mylotting!

its my first time to hear FB fanslave but you can create your own facebook page that is link to your personal FB page. this will help you promote your site or as i already said do blog hopping and join giveaways. these will definitely boost traffics on your page.

Hello sigeboss, I've been from your site before I replied your posted topic about your site problem. Facebook is one of the easiest strategies to promote your site. Actually am an SEO Specialist and I know lots of ways to promote your site.. Several of those are; article submission - you have to write an article about your webpage product and submit it to high ranking article submission sites like..ezinearticle.com, goarticle.com and many more.. you can go also on directory submission, social bookmarkings, profile linking and a lot more ways to do it...if you have budget for an SEo expert to maintain your site that would be a better idea... Good luck on your online business.. Mobhomeir here 041012

hello mobhomeir, thank you so much for the very informative response. I'll surely try your recommendations. Later on, when I'm already familiar with the game, I'll buy my own domain and go away from free-webhosting :=)

It is really important to attract readers' attention to that page, I think. Short, enough information, and impressed are what the webpage title needs to be. When surfing internet, i just take a look overall and then decided which one i will read based on its title.

yeah titles are important. besides the general rule of short/catchy/impressive.....titles, what i can say is that to get people to notice you would always take time. i would suggest you to consistently follow up on the link and gradually over a period of time the traffic would increase. dont expect miracles to happen overnight. even with the best of titles, things would take their time to catch with your expectation.
