Cold calling sales, sorry to those who do this for a living but I am merely just making a point before I offend in any way. I have noticed more and more especially recently that I am getting more of these cold callers sales people knocking on my front door trying to persuade me to buy their broadband, holiday villas, electric, dining out discount cards, insurance and my list goes on. Some are very intimidating and make you feel you have to buy or swap companies you are with. On the telephone at least you can tell them good day and hang up but when you have a 6ft guy standing on your door step not knowing if he is genuine or not, sticking his elbow in your door way is really hard to argue the point or to simply say you don't need that product right now. Now I take my dog to the door with me because I had such a scare. I feel for the more vulnerable old people having to deal with this on their door step, All cold calling sales should be banned by law. Well in the UK it should be banned by law. Just my rants for the day :0)

Cold calling by phone is banned by law in the UK. I don't think that the law extends to people knocking on your door, however.
Unfortunately, the people who use the phone to cold call are generally well aware of the law and will phone from a country where it is not illegal (Switzerland, Spain or the United States, for example).

I agree with you 100%. I will never answer my door for no one! Except for people i know and or am all ready expecting. Not unless I get the rare urge to slam a door in someone's face. Because they just do not take no for an answer. :)
