I don't know what it is and so have never been to a contest. I am assuming that it is some sort of musical type of thing, involving drums perhaps. Can you please tell us more about it snullie? Thanks. :)

it's kind of like a highschool band. Only completely different!! ;-) Much more advanced and difficult. Other kind of brass instruments, all front facing, so all of the sound comes to the front of the corps. Then offcourse a lot of different sort of drums, including lots of timpanys and xyliphones and vibraphones and even complete drum sets. Then there is a big colour guard and rifle line. The intire corps makes fantastic figures on the football field, and sometimes they have to run while they're playing. That gives a fantastic general effect offcourse. The corps can have 127 members on the field, and a lot of the corps have that much members. The members have to leave the corps when they get 21 years old. Then they can continue playing in senior corps. The competition season is from about june until august, when there are the quaterfinals, semifinals and the finals. In that period there are contest all over the USA. Before competition starts, the corps have camps, to learn the show. The music the have to learn at home before the camps. During competition season, the top corps rehearsel all day, from about 6 or 7 am, untill midnight. Only to stop for a few hours of sleep, a few minutes of eating, the contest and the busdrives from contest to contest. The busdrives are at night, so the members can sleep. When they arrive at a new location, it's rehearsel time again. They sleep in gyms at highschools.
