Nightmares that make you scream

Last night I fell asleep on the couch in the living room while my husband was sleeping in the bedroom upstairs. I had a nightmare where I was stalked by a woman. She wouldn't leave me alone, and I finally decided to scream really loud in order to scare her away. I thought that I only screamed in my dream, but I actually screamed very loud in real life, too. I woke up my husband and he got a tremendous shock. He thought that I had been attacked by a burglar or rapist, but I only screamed because of my dream. Have you ever had a nightmare that made you scream? Did you wake up your family?

I don't think that I have had any nightmares about ghosts. I like to read ghost stories and watch ghost movies, but I don't dream about those things at night or if I do I don't remember the dream when I wake up. It must have been a very scary dream since you fell down from your bed The dream where the woman was stalking me was also scary and I still remember how I tried to escape, but it wasn't possible and in the end I decided to scream really loud to scare her away. Instead of scaring the woman away I scared my husband who woke up when he heard me...

I have had nightmares about spiders and snakes, too. In one of my dream the entire bedroom wall was covered with spiders, and I felt very scared because I am afraid of spiders. I just wanted to get away, but I was afraid moving because I didn't want to get close to all those huge spiders I didn't like my dreams about snakes either. I have had several dreams about snakes, but one of the dreams that I especially remember is dream where there was a snake in my bed. I was lying in bed and I suddenly discovered that there was snake in my bed. I was so scared that I couldn't move...

I often have nightmares about fire. In those dreams I am trapped inside a burning building. I try to escape the buiding, but it is not possible, there is no way out. I think that those nightmares started when my friend's house burned down (in my childhood) I had another scary dream about drowning. I was in a car and the car was close to the harbour. Suddenly the driver starts the car and a few seconds later they car ends up in the water. The car is sinking and I can't get out. What about you, which scary dreams have you had aside from the ones about snakes and spiders?

I used to have a nightmare when i was 8 years old, what i dreamed is i am very small, look like a sand and there are many big big big waves falling down on my body, i tried to run but could not avoid it, all fallen on my head and i screamed out loud to make my mom awake. She tried to get my sleep back but after that i got that dream again and screamed. Finally around 5 am, i could sleep well. Sometimes, my mom still remind me about that nite and she said that she was so worried for me at that time.

It sounds scary to be so small and be surrounded by huge waves. I think that I would have screamed, too I understand that your mother was very worried about you. It is strange how things like that can happen in dreams. We can change size, we can fly and we can do a lot of other things that aren't possible in real life, and some dreams seem so real. It has been a some time since I started this discussion, but I still remember the feeling from that dream. I still surprices me that I screamed in real life, I was so sure that I only screamed in my dream.

That was intersting that you chose to scream in your dream to get rid of the stalker. Sounds like it was your subconscious way to get out your mind out of the dream! I have had very 'vocal' dreams. In fact, I talk I guess almost everynight in my dream, have had night terrors, slept walked...etc. Needless to say I am pretty tired when I wake up ;) I had a dream once where I was screamed and cried so loud that everyone in the house came running. Dreamed I was kidnapped and the person stopped the car, said to stop crying, and I couldn't and then he shot me right in the chest. Right when I was shot, I woke up with pain in my chest, blurry eyes from crying, and my parents and brother looking at me like I was nuts.

I hadn't thought about it that way, but I think it is possible that it was a subconscious way to get out of the dream. It was strange because I was sure that I only screamed in my dream and when my husband told me that I screamed for real I was very surpriced. Your dream sounds very scary and I can imagine that it seemed very real since you woke up with pain in your chest. It sounds like a really bad nightmare

Ow !! , that sounds like a real nightmare ! Did you try to see what was that nightmare all about ? What made you so afraid of being kidnapped ? Was that something that happened near your house at the neighbourhood ? That's a bummer to go to sleep and having such a bad dream.

Sometimes it is hard to figure out if we are dreaming or awake. It is a scary feeling that somone is trying to kill you or harm you, it sounds like the dream that I had when I screamed so loud that I woke up my husband. A woman was stalking me and I was unable to escape. I was happy to discover that it was only a dream.

I used to have this nightmare where a pack of wolves would gut my family while I watched. They would snarl if I tried to interfere. I then went and hid under my bed. I woke up under my bed multiple times. It was so reoccurring, I was afraid to sleep. That all changed when I petted a wolf cub. It was so cute, and my dreams immediately stopped.

It is interesting to hear that your dreams stopped when you petted a wolf cub. Sometimes our fear disappears when we confront the things that we are afraid of because we discover that the things aren't as scary as we imagined. I don't think that I have had any dreams about wolves, but I sometimes dream about other animals that I am afraid of like spiders and snakes. I think that those nightmares might disappear as well if I learned to get close to snakes in real life.

I haven't had one of those dreams in a really long time. I used to have dreams that felt so real, nightmares that felt like they were actually happening and I have screamed in my sleep. it hasn't happened in several years so I consider myself lucky that I haven't had a dream that scary or real. The dreams I had was that I was being chased by demons who wanted to kill me in various different disturbing way. One dream I remember distinctly was that I was being chased and the demon caught me and was starting to gouge out my eyes. It was the scariest thing that I dreamt about.

Your dream about the demons sounds really scary. It is good to hear that you haven't had that kind of dreams recently. Some dreams feel so real, and we get the feeling that we actually experience the things that we only dream about. I had feeling in the past when I was dreaming about situations where I was trapped inside a burning building. The dream that I last night also seemed real. My husband as very worried about me when he heard me scream, but fortuneately I didn't meet a real stalker, it was only a dream.

It happened to me once but I can't recall if I was totally screaming because I'm the only one who woke up myself. I woke up with lot of tears in my face, as I was remember my dream it was a snake following me and when he actually intend to bite me he became a man I was really afraid and I thought it is true. I woke up gasping like I was running miles away. It is really scary.

It sounds very scary. I am afraid of snakes so a dream like that would really scare me. Sometimes things in dreams suddenly change and become something else like the snake in your snake that became a man. I remember some of my dream where the objects in the dreams suddenly changed and became something different like a dog which became a person. When we are dreaming we believe that those things are real like dream that I had when I started this discussion. Fortuneately I didn't get the same kind of dream last night, and I hope that dream isn't going to return.

Such feelings are normal and it can happen to anyone. I dont know if i have screamed as no one told me yet but i do had such dreams which made me cry for life. I dreamt of being attacked by an unseen ghostly power. It was so realistic as even when i opened my eyes i was feeling its power as i was unable to move my body, legs or hands for some moment. I was crying for life. I think it was just because my brain started working for eyes and all other part were still sleeping. That was so weird. That feeling was horrible but it just lasted for a few seconds and my body parts started responding to the brain slowly. I felt very tired. Such a situation has never occurred to me in my life. Human body is full of mysteries.

I have never experienced a situation like the one you describe, but I can imagine that it is a scary and weird feeling to be unable to move your body. I think that there is a word for the that experience, but I don't remember what it is called. It is true that the human body is full of mysteries. Today we know more than we did in the past, because there are still many things that we don't understand.

My husband once did the same thing. I woke up because he was hitting me. I am not sure what kind of things he was dreaming about, because he didn't remember the details of the dream. We do some strange things in our sleep sometimes. I was very surpriced when I discovered that I had been screaming for real, I was sure that I was only screaming in the scream...

I sometimes scream too when I have a nightmare but mostly I'm so scared that I wake up crying and that bothers my husband and he tries to reassure me that nothing will hurt me and it's only a dream and to just forget it.

It is nice to have someone who can comfort us when we wake up after a bad dream. When I wake up scared because of a dream I usually tell my husband about my dream, and that helps me relax. I sometimes I don't remember the dream at all, I am very scared when I wake up, but I don't remember what happened in the dream.

I had an encounter with the police earlier where they busted me for making a U-turn which is illegal in my country. That night my mind was still in the police station. After I dozed of a dream came to me and this police man was holding. My efforts to free myself didn’t work and screamed at him “let me go”. It was loud enough to wake me up.

I have that experience too. But I do not wake up my whole family. i just wake my mom up. That was what I usually did when i was still a kid. But recently, I do not do this anymore. I know that it is just a dream and that I do not need to panic over it. I go back to sleep again knowing that I just had a bad dream :)

That's scary. I don't think it's ever happened to me. I've had lots of nightmares where I just didn't have a voice and couldn't scream. The ones where I can scream I can't recall waking up screaming or having someone tell me that I was screaming in the night. It must be an awfully scary thing to find out you're screaming in the real world, not to mention it would scare everyone in the house with you.

When I was a young boy , about 4-5 years old , I was afraid of cats. One night I dreamed about a cat that was standing on his back legs and slowly turn around to my direction. That was very scary and I scream "iiimaaaa!!!" (ima is hebrew for mom). I then understood it was a dream , I heard myself screamming. I also was afraid of slides with water like in water parks where you can slide on a slide with water and in the end you fall into a pool. I didn't know how to swim. One night I had a dream I was about to slide on that kind of slide and I was too afraid so a woman asked me what's the deal , I told her that I was afraid to slide. She didn't hear me so I talked louder telling her I was afraid to slide. it came up to a point that I actually said it and my brother then woke up and told me:"there is no any slide around here). I told him I had a wierd dream about a water slide.
