A ticket for my friend

This morning while I was riding with my friend, she is the one who is driving. There was a car in front of us stopping at the red light, when the red light turns into green light, it is ready to go, obviously, the driver in the front door didn't pay attention, or he/she was on a the phone chatting. So, my friend wants to cut in front of the car which is not moving and make a left turn. A police car was right behind us, and there was a ticket. It is such a bad luck. Should we blame the driver who is not paying attention to the traffic light and block the traffic, or it was our fault tried to cut in front of him/her?

It is against the law using mobile phone while driving the police must see whats she's doing. But since your in the wrong move your the one who caught by the police man. I hope your friend horned her so that the cop caught his attention who blocks in front of you.

It depends on the area. It is still legal in some places to talk on the phone. Unless a new law was passed recently, I think it is still legal in most of Pennsylvania for example.

Usually, it is safer to anticipate the irrationality of other drivers on the road. As you drive, drive your car and everybody else’s car on the road. This way, you are able to anticipate every foolish mistake that the other drivers might make and avoid getting in to the middle of it. It is wiser to assume that a cop is at every corner every time you’re on the road.

well in a case like tha i would never go around like that, if they dont go on green or on there turn i will blow the horn and get there attention that way and it usualy works i dont really blow it hard like that just a toot to get there attiention to go on that its green or there turn. i know if im going and its my turn and im just not as fast for the person behind me they will lay down hard on the horn that really upsets me and give me a bad day.. so it pays to pay attention and be a safe driver.. i am always looking for cops when im out lol i use to date one , he's my oldest daughter;s father.. but were n o longer togehter for years and he's no longer a cop...

Well, since she made the wrong move you can not blame the car in front. But if you just beeped your horn and not moved and the car in front did not move, then the cops would have went around and stopped that car and not you.

I think you should've honked the horn with great frustration. hehe Then the police would've noticed that the car in front wasnt paying attention because he was using the mobile phone while driving. Then he would've had the ticket from the police. hehehe

That is so true. The moment you decide to do something illegal there just happens to be a cop near by to give you ticket but all the other times you are a great driver, never breaking the law. Maybe instead of doing something illegal they should have just honked their horn like a mad man. Maybe then the cop would have pulled them over for blocking traffic. Sometimes you just have to be patient.
