Can We Keep Our Focus In a Mad World?

It is but a vital thing to keep focus nowadays where the world seems to be mad. What does it mean to keep focus? Keeping your focus is having a point of reference that gives you a guidance in life. For many people, majority of the forces that drive them are the following: the passion for money or wealth, desire for fame, and hunger for power and influence. Let us be reminded of the passion of our Lord for us. Jesus is saying that He wants to be our first and when our focus is on Him, He will take care of all of our needs in life. It does not mean that we must neglect our family, go to church every day or leave your business or work. It wisely means that we must consciously decide to let the Lord Jesus Christ be the Lord of our lives. He knows the end from the beginning and actually He sees things that we cannot see. It is true then that when we focus on God, He can direct our lives. In that way, we will be able to keep our sanity in a mad world. Can we keep our focus in a mad world? Yes, we can..when we focus on the One who knows everything.

The world seems to have lost its mind with all that we see on the news and around us. If your mind is left to wonder without focus, you will definitely get caught up in all of the world’s craziness. I have found focusing on God’s love for me gives me peace in all this turmoil. The reality that this is not it, gives me hope for a better future.

Hi Friend! Yes, I am also trying to simply focus my mind in God's love so that I will not get crazy to a lot of things that seem to deviate my mind around the world. Only God holds my future so I will just focus on His purpose while I am still here in a mad world.

I think part of what helps me keep focus is occaisonally reminding myself that there are more important things in life than wealth or money, fame and whatever else. God and my family are what matters to me and helps me keep focus in this world. I know that when I start thinking about those other things I become more stressed out and depressed but when I shift my focus back to God and whats important I feel 10 times better.

Right right right, soulist! I think that is one secret to get focused. Having a focus with lasting value will keep us from the stress of focusing to things with lesser and temporal value.

No matter how well we know ourselves, there will always be a time when we lose focus. I sometimes feel like I can manage and handle my own problems but when I falter, I then come to my senses. We always need guidance and assistance, only God can provide that. Our family and friends make us feel loved. With God, we are able to build long lasting relationship with other people. In this age of modern technology, we must always reflect on our strong belief to stay on track.

I experience same thing,leighz. I thought I can handle things out but it did not turned out the way I expected. The guidance that we ultimately need is one that comes from God. Thanks for the idea.

The heart is the basis of Christianity. It is not bad to make a lot of money. It's what you do with it that matters - buy a house, health insurance, life insurance, invest for college, take care of family with it. It is not bad to be famous, as long as it doesn't go to your head. It's nice to get a lot of attention & respect. It's not bad to have power, as long as you don't use it to make people do what you want. Everything is relative. As long as you listen to the good part of your heart, the heart that is sensative, compassionate, loving, caring, etc. That is what God really wants, not just worship.

Hi dcunni! Nice comment. It depends upon every motive that goes with our action. And when we learn that everything we do can serve as our worship to God then I am sure that our intention in everything we do such as what you have mentioned above will all be right just as you also have indicated: to be famous but must not go to your head etc.
