Morkel's attack on Virat Kohli in the 19th over of the match between CSK and RCB was the most brutal T20 attack that I remember. Smashing 28 runs off the over, that brought CSK from nowhere back in the match and they finally one in the final over. The over went like this: 4, 6, 4, 6, 2, 6 Have you seen a more brutal over in a T20 chase? Cheers! Ram

Hi Ram, Yes,I think you are right. This must be one of the most brutal attacks in T20 history.I don't think there was such a brutal attack in T20 history.I could remember Yuvraj Singh hitting six sixes against England. It was also a brutal attack.Albie Morkel's 7 ball 28 runs brought CSK back into the match. It was a great victory for CSK and it would bring back their momentum .It has brought the excitement back to IPL-5. I could remember Chris Gayle smashing against Parameshwaran when RCB faced against Kochi last year.It was also one of the brutal attacks in IPL. All is well that ends well.CSK began the chase with a good start and finished off it in their style with a boundary.

Yes, I remember the assault of Gayle on Parameshwaran. I think it happened for two overs and that was also very brutal. But that was while setting the score and not while chasing like this one. Cheers! Ram

Yes, but that was when batting first when there was a bit lesser pressure!! Cheers! Ram

Not only Morkel actually. If you look at the CSK line-up, Dhoni, Bravo and Morkel all are cool cucumbers. Even if you put them into a pressure cooker, they will remain cool. Cheers! Ram

Not just in a chase, I think one of the most brutal period. Vettori and Kohli showed the frustration on their faces. Good observation though. I believe Vettori will think a lot before giving the ball to Virat again

Yes, the smile was wiped off the face of the Virat. Somebody nicely put it that the last few overs was like Virat's middle finger sticking out :) Cheers! Ram

I think Kohli is not a very good depth bowler and most probably should be used earlier rather than at the end of the match. I think the captain missed a trick by not bowling the sixth and seventh bowler early part of the match and having less option at the end of the match. I think it was one of the classic batting of Morkel in that particular over.

Kohli is a part-timer. It was a big gamble that Vettori took in asking him to bowl. And of course, he paid dearly for that gamble. Cheers! Ram

Mortkel attack on Kohli plundering 28 runs of one over was indeed one of the brutal attacks by the batsman to a bowler but not the only one. First and foremost Yuvraj Singh who plundered 36 runs hitting six sixes of one Broad's over. This over also reminded me the drubbing of Waqar Younis by Ajay Jadeja in World cup semi finals at Bangalore if I remember correctly. He too belted the great Waqar for 28 runs in one over.

Yes, Jadeja's assault was more significant because of two main reasons. It came in a knockout world cup quarter final against Pakistan. Secondly, it came in an era where improvisation was not at this level. Cheers! Ram

I don't remember in the IPL that anyone had gone so brutal in one over and in chasing.I remember one instance in which India was against England and Yuvraj hit 6 sixes in a over in the T20 world cup 2007.In todays match it was the over which turned drastically towards the chennai.Albie is a man of power as you would have seen him hit 2 of the sixes very low and the bowler was also a part timer so it was a little easy to hit the ball. But in the recent time it is one over which I will remember for long time.

Yes, the 6 sixers by Yuvi was awesome. But in the IPL this was probably the best hitting. The only other instance I remember is the 2 sixes off the last two balls by Dhoni against Kings XI Punjab Dharamshala. Cheers! Ram
