A great reader is someone who reads a book and gets to understand or comprehend everything in it, but not most of us are great readers. Some just remembers important parts of the book while others are interested in the smallest of details but thing is can you comprehend the book well with great speeds and also great understanding?

No, I cant. I usually read books at a slow pace and I read that by chapter because I'm not really fond of reading books. I usually read a book only about 30 minutes unless it is a book that I really like and anticipate.

Hey there vincent, You don't say? Well were both kinda like that i really have to digest a book that i read so that my interest wont fade and that i can really grasp the things it is really trying to portray or say, great stuff when you read slow.

I can read fast but if you will ask if I can understand at once every details in what I read, my answer is I cannot do it. If I want to understand fully what I am reading, I have to stop and thing over it. That makes me slow in my reading. I hope so that I can read fast and understand also the contents fast. Do you have any idea on how can I exercises my power of comprehension?

I can read very fast and that was part of my job at one time of my life. I am a voracious reader and also a writer in my native language. I have directed workshops so I had to quickly read and grasp what there was to say about each text. When I find a wonderful book, I cherish it and reread it several times. I dwell on some special sentences or chapters on the other readings.

No, I can not. Actually that's depend on the time and my condition. When I am still feeling fresh because I just start study etc I can read fast and understand that easily, but when I got tired it's look like just read book without get any single information...,

Hey there maratus, I guess things that we do are really about how prepared we are mentally and physically if we are not then most like it would be an epic fail for us to reaching our goals right? Anyway thanks for the comment maratus.

It really depends on what I am reading. If I am reading something important then I want to read it slowly so that I can get all the meaning within the book. But if I am reading for enjoyment then I can read pretty fast and still get the idea and understanding within the book.

I am not a speed reader but I think I am not really slow either. I don't read continuously non-stop, I always take breaks when reading. So usually it takes just a few days for me to finish the book. According to my ebook reader, whenever I read books that are 300+ pages long, I usually take 6 hours to finish it all. I once read a 600+ paged-book and it took me 11 hours!
