Nose Spray

Well a few people recommended I use saline via my nose to hopefully get rid of this ear problem I've had for a year or so. Well I've been using it twice or thrice a day for about two to three days. Everytime I use it I can tell that my ear is stopped up in some way as whatever is stopping it up seems to like "move" so to speak. I am hoping that me using the nose spray will eventually clear out my ear problem so that I can hear again in it. It did take a lot of "gunk" as I'll call it (I know the proper term but trying to be.. nicer) out and that is great, that means I must've been stopped up and just didn't feel it. If this doesn't help within a week I may also take allergy pills and see if it helps. If not then I guess I'll just have to see if I can't go to a Minute Clinic.

Hopefully you just hadn't gotten all the gunk out in a while and it had clogged and cause a problem with your hearing. I do hope that is all it is. When my daughter was young and her doctor took a big wad of stuff out of one of her ears. It was astounding.

I am hoping that it is just a bunch of gunk and that is it. The saline seems to be helping and I use it atleast thrice a day two squirts in each nostril. I will try allergy pills as well as getting a better ear cleaning kit before I go to the doctor for this.

My dad has serious problems with his ears getting stopped up. He too abhors taking medicine for anything. He uses saline nasal spray when he can, but Allegra D helps him when he can't fix it any other way. It's over the counter, and was recommended to him by his doctor. Sometimes my dad has to use a prescription steroid nasal spray. His poor ear drum has burst so many times often that's all that helps him.

This nose spray is sort of helping. Last night my ear popped and it seemed like it took less effort then it usually does. I may try some Allegra D if this doesn't fix it, though I may go with Alavert first as I know it is very strong as well.

One thing for sure, it is not going to hurt you. It helps wash out allergens if you have problems like that. Yes, I use saline spray and I also take allergy pills. I also sometimes take mucus relief pills. They say it is for chest mucus, but hey, it helps with the stuffy head as well. I hate it when I hear popping and such in my ear. I have been using one medication, but lately I have more problems, so I decided it must be time to change it up. It seems to have helped.

I only hear the kind of popping when I yawn, or from time to time when I can hear better. I hate that I can't tell when it "clogs" back up so to speak though. I wish I didn't have to say "remember I can't hear out of this ear"
