How to be a good part time teacher of a 1grade middle school student ?

Yesterday, a tutoring center asked me to tutor a 1 grade student of middle. And the subject is English. I want to try.To be honest, although I passed CET-6(It is English test), but I retrogress a lot since I graduateed from college.I never did a part time job as a teacher but the centre lie to the parents that I already teached English for 3 years! I searched some exercices from the Inernet and found some of them it is difficult for me! I have no choice but reading English teaching material today. Tomorrw is fist time to meet the student and his parents, I am very nerous, and afraid I screw up the job! Do you have any good idea to be a good part time job as a teacher? Please tell me,please!

I also have some difficulty in teaching English to middle school students. Well, I think it depends upon the level of knowledge or English skill your student has.
I don't know if this reply is helpful, but I think you need to start from the basics and gradually level up, just to evaluate if they can understand the basic level, and for you to know on what level of English you will base your lessons. It will also boost the confidence of the student if they will be able to understand easily and answer the drills correctly.
Brush up your knowledge and do your best!

Oh! and please try to make the lesson fun. You can teach him/her with the use of games. Complement him/her (but don't lie ;) ) and give jokes. It will be a lot more fun and less boring that way. =)
