Recently i read a news item in the local newspaper wherein a gentleman had also posted a picture of a donkey drinking water from a bucket. The donkey had presumably stayed foot until it was fed some water. This made be realize how noble this act was.We scarcely think about these poor creatures who struggle for water during the hot summer times. While we human beings do everything to get more than our share of water. These dumb creatures have the same right as human beings with regards to all natural resources.I am thinking of feeding these animals and birds water from now onward..

Nature should take care of itself. If Nature starts depending or is depending on the good will of human beings there is something wrong. We already interfere way to much and mostly we do it wrong.

Um, WakeUpKitty, Humans are a part of nature, too. The only problem is that we don't tend to our role as keepers of the Earth. Instead we destroy natural habitats and food and water sources that these animals would normally have access to in our blind desire to build cities and "civilize" the areas we live in. If Mankind lived in harmony with Nature, then yes, you would have a valid point. But we don't. Providing food and water for the wildlife we live around is simply giving back what we have taken. I'm not saying we should handfeed them but to leave scraps out for them is not going to harm anyone or anything.

Kitty this is not about going and feeding wild animals.A donkey is a domestic animals that should be in the care of a human. If humans decided to earn money from animals and have domestic animals around them they shoud take responsability.
And concerning the wild animals we also have a huge responsability. We have built some of our homes on the wild animals land and we have to stop beeing selfish and also think that we are not alone on this earth.
we are a species which have done a lot of harm to the nature, without thinking that the other species on earth have the same rights like us.

I live in a town centre but outside my windo is a strip of grass (I call it a park) which seperates the block of flats where I live from the next one. There are trees amd bushes and the birds have nested there.
I throw breadcrumbs out for them and in the summer I have abowl of water for them on the window ledge which they seem to appreciate very much.
It is sad that man has destroyed so much of their natural habitat and at the same time taken little or no interest in seeing to their needs.

Its wonderful to see how kind hearted you are towards animals and birds. These kindheartedness is all but over in this cruel world. Men have become so selfish that they forget their duties towards these animals who are also rightful onwers of all natural resources

Man has indeed become selfish
In UK we can buy all sorts of treats for the wild birds as well as for our household pets. Sadly in Italy that is not the case.
I also saw on television in UK that farmers are being encouraged, and given monetary incentives from the government to help them, to keep a part of their farming land untouched so that wildlife will continue to recreate as always

I have installed a bird bath in my garden and several birds use it every single day. It is a joy to watch them bathe and drink the water.

Good. its a nice gesture and its more human to have so concern for these innocent animals/birds. They lead a wretched life on the streets with no care. Atleast some food and water will be a solace to them

We feed our pets first. We have a rooster and a dog and they are both given their fill before we start eating!

I have always given my scraps and such to the wildlife I lived among. Believe it or not, they stayed out of my garbage because I would put the scraps in a particular place so that they were not so hungry that my garbage smelled good to them. While I have not been so stupid as to try to approach a dangerous animal, I have had some marvelous moments with ravens, squirrels and even bears (from a distance, of course) because I have had a welcoming attitude toward them rather than trying to eradicate them from my awareness...and my property.
We must learn to live in harmony with nature, not keep ourselves separate from nature. While I don't like to encourage bugs to live in close proximity to me, I enjoy viewing my larger furry and feathered friends through my windows. Having a source of water (i.e. a pond or trough) in the yard is always a good thing. Animals don't always have ready access to a rain puddle or pond or lake when they need to drink. As long as we give them the necessary space that wild animals need, there is much good that we can do to help our wild friends survive.

Its a practice with most household to feed the animals with scraps or left over food. Its a good gesture to feed these poor creatures. Leftovers which otherwise would find its place into the dustbin will give some solace to these animals.

in my country there are many stray dogs and cats.i always provide water for the ones near to my home and i also feed them as much as i can.it is not their fault that they live o the streets, the only guilty ones are the stupid people who abandoned them.

Yes its the stupidity of human beings that has put these simple and poor creatures into trouble. They hardly find anything to eat and still more difficult to find water in cities.Providing them the most basic requirement of water is a noble gesture which must be practiced by everyone

If I see one, I'm going to help it out. I just suffer when I see animals starving. If I see a stray dog or cat in front of our building or an animal somewhere where I have water or some kind of meat (like ham in snadwich) with me, I'm going to give it to them.

Its really painful to see animals starving. I feed 2 dogs which come to my bakery and are very loyal. The love and affection they show is genuine and are faithful
