Do you believe in paranormal activities?

Do you believe in sleep paralysis? Or do you believe it is something else? I'm not sure what to believe in but this is my experience. At night, my mom would come and check up on me and my sister just to make sure that we don't sneak out or anything. Early one morning, I kept getting this funny feeling that something was wrong. As i was laying in bed, I heard my door slowly open. I didn't think much of it because first of all, i didn't want to scare myself and i thought it was my mom coming in to check up on me and my sister. I didn't hear footsteps but i felt it's presence. It was standing next to my bed. I faced the wall and wanted to turn around and see who it was but I didn't which i am glad i didn't. I felt the hairs of my neck stand up and it's presence was moving closer and closer to me. At this point, i'm freaked and I just wanted to say, "Mom, stop that. It's freaking me out" but i didn't. All of a sudden, I was stuck, i couldn't move, i couldn't breathe. All i could remember was screaming as loud as i could saying, "Mom! Mom! help!" and kicking and screaming then I was back to normal. My heart was racing as if i ran marathon. Minutes later, I heard my mom come in and said, "daughter, are you okay? I had a dream that you were in trouble." I didn't say anything to my mom and went back to sleep. I don't believe in paranormal activities but after this, I'm a believer. What do you think? Was my mind playing around with me or was it something else?
