This kind of case happened to my husband and my colleague's husband. Several weeks ago, my colleague's husband had a serious cough. He would cough terribly at midnight and you could imagine it would be so disturbing to my colleague. Even though, her husband didn't want to go to see the doctor. Now this similar thing happened to my husband. Last night he coughed and I hardly slept. I told him to take the medicine or go to see a doctor. But he didn't do so. Oh... These are men

My husband is like that too. I don't know why men are like that but they really are babies when it comes to going to the doctor.
I actually have a pretty bad cough right now and went to 2 of my doctors earlier this week. They both said I have a cold and gave me cough medicine and the other doctor gave me some steroids to take.
I have the worst problem when I go to sleep, when I am laying down the coughing is worse and I know I'm waking up my husband, even though I take my medicine I know I'm still coughing. I hate to wake him up.
Oh well, I hope I get better soon. I've been sick about 8 days now, so hopefull not much longer...
Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

My husband is like that too! I got angry sometimes coz he always complained that he got sick but he don't want to go see the doctor or take any medicines. I don't understand why. My father was like that too when he was still alive. He didn't like going to the doctor until he was really in pain and asked me if I could bring him to the doctor, and it was too late already coz he was diagnosed of malignant cancer. That's why I got frustrated with my husband when he don't like to go to the doctor when he is not feeling well.

It is not always men. I am bad about not going to go see the doctor. I will take medicine if I have it though. With a cough and cold a good night's rest is important to getting better. We are having a lot of allergy problems right now. It has a lot of the same symptoms as a cold.

I agree that it's not always men who don't like going to the Doctor. I stay away for as long as possible, and only go when I am in dire straits. But, men don't like going to the Doctor because men like to fix things. They don't like to think that they might need fixing themselves. This makes them feel weak, and of course that's the last thing a man wants to feel. So (like me) they wait and wait for their problem to fix itself. Unfortunately sometimes they wait too long.

It is not just men. I hate doctors I know if I ever go to the hospital I won't come back out. But I will take meds especially for a cough.

We usually think we are tough, since we are men. We usually think, going to a doctor or taking a medicine admits we are sick and weak. But the truth is, we are not. Maybe some, but not all.

Maybe they think they just catch a cold, nothing more,or they hate to ask for leave to see the doctor.however it differs from person to person.I ,for one,if I am under the weather,I usually take the medicine in time, only I like the Traditional Chinese Medicine except that treats hypertension.

oh that's just like my dad, when he got sick he don't want to go to a doctor or take medicines. so sometimes my mom sneak it to his food, like last time my dad had fever but he don't like to take meds, so my mom put the tablet inside the banana, so when my dad was eating that he accidentally chew that crunchy thing and spit it out... we were laughing madly because of that.

It's something I've never understood either youless. My man has had numerous illnesses, problems and even fractured bones where he did not go to the doctor. Everything is ok now, and he is fine, without the doctor, which is why he continues not to go. He knows that not going to the doctor with the fractures he will have problems later in life, but this does not seem to bother him.
I think that if there was something serious enough wrong, he would go, but it would have to be pretty bad.

This is so true. As a men myself i hate to go to see the doctors. This is because i think it is a waste of time and the illness can go away anytime they want. As for the medicine, i don't really know, but i just don't want to eat them. As i said earlier, we men are strong and the illness will go away after some time.

I have noticed that, too! So far I have concluded that men are in fact more sensitive in pain and they have some kind of fear in front of the white uniform of a doctor. Or maybe they don't usually take healthy tasks very seriously unless they feel real pain.

i am one of those who does not like to see doctors and i dont like to drink meds. even when i have a fever and my wife insist me on drinking the fever meds every four hours... i sometimes obey and sometimes i just say i drank it already. but as years goes by. my mother got paralyze because of this kind of trait. she goes to the doctor but does not follow orders and does not drink the meds. i got furious then my wife told me that i am like that too. and of course i got scared. my son is still young and if something like that will happen to me then i can not forgive myself for my wife will havea hard time taking care of me and my son plus working to feed us. so from then on i try to cooperate. as of now i am already drinking maintenance for high blood pressure and i drink it seriously. everyday.
