DO you think we can make honest friends in internet?

Yes! And here's my version. I met him in an online forum from our school's website. He gave his real name. I gave mine. I checked him in the yearbook and saw his profile there. He talked about his life when he was at school (he was about 10 years older than I am) and he made mention about professors during his time that are still serving in school even in my time. I even asked some of these professors if they knew a certain guy that goes by that name given by my online friend and they all replied that they know him. So I realized that this online friend must be a real person. Our communication continued. One day, I received an email from him, offering me a job in their company. I did not reply right away. Then later that day, he called me up on the phone. That was the first time we talked to each other (virtually). So within that week I submitted my resignation letter, got my self a visa and flew to Hongkong. My online pal has not only given me friendship; but the opportunity to work overseas as well. Ni xiang wo de peng you ma? (Do you want to be my friend? Sorry if it does not completely translate in Chinese.)

yes we can and its completely natural to do so dont feel so stupid its the natural human behavior we always learn form our mistakes and this would have given u immense insights so as to when and where to find friends so happy searching and dont be disappointed

I honestly thought I had made some honest friends here on Mylot. Yes I have but there was one who back stapped me! I thought she was my friend and a good friend! She even called me a good friend! One day not long ago I find out she deleted me from her friend list! I tried to find her and really thought she had quite Mylot. Turns out she never left and why she dumped me,I don't know! It does bugs me and it will for awhile. Since then I am less trustworthy of people. Especailly here. This is my story.

First of all...No...you're not stupid. You're a person who is trusting and taking a risk. Yes...I think it is possible to meet honest people on the internet. Some people are trustworthy and they deserve to be given the benefit of the doubt.

It is possible. There are some, if not many, people who are true to their words even if it's just online. I had a friend that I met online. At first I was hesitant because I was also thinking that he, too, could be like the others whose intentions is to fool people. But, I gave him a chance because he was also a friend of my officemate. We exchanged messages only in facebook. I told him right away that I don't go for online relationships. He understood. That's when I know he's a good guy. Until now, he still sends me messages on facebook and I reply once in a while. For me, honest people online are mostly those who do not seek for love.

We haven't met personally though, but the friendship that we have built is one that can be treasured. About the Canadian boy whom you met on a certain website, I think he misunderstood it for something else. But hey, don't be discouraged. You'll meet one honest friend along the way.

Yes, I think that we can make honest friends in internet. However, having honest friends online is not easy. It takes time to know if they are honest with us or not. This mean, it cannot happen in just one or two day chat basis. It is a continuous spending of time with each other as time goes by and knowing each other little by little so that we can know if we can trust them or not. There are different kinds of people we can meet online. Some are true and some are not. Some have sincere offer of friendship while others might have other intention. Whatever the reason we meet other people online, we should always remember that we should always be careful.

It depends.. I think you can be honest with whomever you chat with on the internet but you should also be careful and not give out too much information since these days- many crimes happen because of social networking sites..or chat sites.

I think it is possible to get, honest friendships, especially in places like Mylot, rather than to the popular Facebook. Given my personal experience, I must say that just on Facebook, I met people far from being polite. But here on Mylot, I never had any quarrels with users or a friend. Do not expect to find certainly "soul mate" in the network, however I personally friends that I attend in person, I have not many, internet offers me the opportunity to meet people from all over the world.

It is quite possible to meet honest friends in internet.Internet is a space in wich every person can be whatever he wants because it is very easy! Most people prefer to be more real, more honest in that area, because the probability to see this person is less.So do not risk being directly hurt by people in real life. Your action is not stupid! In this world, everything has a risk, even sleeping has the risk. So, you are not stupid for doing what you've done and just go on with it. For your question about making honest friends in internet, it's is not impossible. There's a lot kind of people in this world that we don't know about, but for me, internet and physical world is two different things. People can be friendly when we chat with him on the internet, but not when we met them face to face, same with the opposite. But making friends on the internet especially with people around the world would give you more knowledge about their country, lifestyle and all that. But take my word for this, you can be kind and helping to everyone on the internet, but trust no one. Never take anyone word and believe them 100%. Because it might eat you someday. At least that's my style when i'm on the internet.

It is possible for you to make friends on the internet but these days its just hard to know. You are not stupid you just have faith in people that they are being honest online which is a good thing. I have met people online before even on time someone gave me gift vouchers over the internet and he didn't even meet me. However, it is depend on our lucky also. With 10 persons who we meet on internet, if there is one person become your good friend, it means you are so lucky already. A chance to get a good friend through meeting in person or meeting in internet is same. However, because we just type, not face to face directly, don't have many chance to meet in person when make friends on internet, so that it is easy to be lie.
