Okay I'm writing this first off because I've been told twice tonight by two different mothers that my daughter should be in a front facing car seat. Now the law clearly states where I live that a child 1 years old or over that is 20lbs or more can be in a front facing car seat. So that means my daughter can sit in a front face car seat because she meets the laws standard. Different states have different laws. Now these mother keep telling me it is 2 years and 30lbs and that is what the law will be changed to. "Will be Changed to" it isn't even in this years laws so by the time they make that law my daughter will be able to sit in a front facing car seat so it really makes not difference. My daughter is way to big for a infant car seat we need that car seat for our new baby. I feel my daughter is okay to be in a front face car seat due to the way the law is written for now. I'm not going to fallow a law that isn't even in affect yet. Now if other parents want to wait that is fine but I hated when other parents tell me this is what the law says when I know what the law says for my state when that law changes I will fallow the new law other wise is not a law just and idea for a new law.

I actually have a friend that kept her oldest son in a rear-facing car seat until he was almost four years old and now she has a daughter that is three and a new born son and they are both in rear-facing carseats.
However, for me, I couldn't wait to move my children into front facing carseats because it was easier for me to pay attention to them when I could actually see them through the mirrors. I actually moved my son when he was ten-months old (just a little bit under the twenty pound mark, but stable enough to sit in the bigger carseat and a little bit squished in the rear-facing carrier.

I say its what ever that parent feels is right for there child. Some kids get to 20lbs before they are a year or after they are a year. My daughter is like 2lbs shy of 20lbs and my husband felt she is able to be in it. She is the right height and her little feet and head are almost out of the infant car seat. Plus we do need that car seat as soon as possible so that we don't have to buy a new one. Car seats aren't cheap. We got the front facing one as a hand me down.

I'm a firm believer in Extended Rear Facing regardless of laws.
Kids who stay rear facing longer have been proven safer in accidents & in my opinion 2 broken legs are better than a broken neck

Well either way in my head is that a child and yourself is never safe in a car regardless of how your eating. If the law to me says that your child has to be a 1 year and 20lbs then other parents should keep there mouths shut when its not there child. If your fallowing things by the law then its no body else busyness but that parents. Then if the law changes then I'll listen till then its not a law and its just and idea. I don't tell other parents how to raise there child and what is right for there child's safe that is up to that parent for that child. My nephew he has one when he is 1 and he is 5 his parents never been in a car accident with him in it. I'm a very a good driver and also my daughter is almost never in the car and when her little brother and sister come she is stuck with what she has the front facing car seat. I can't turn it around or nothing it isn't made for that.
