Is seems North Korea, as any other country, was motivated by fear of nuclear attack ...
What do you think?

MAD (Mutual Assured Destruction) is the only way that can preserve an uneasy peace between nuclear armed countries. Diplomacy without a big stick at the back is just noises made from empty drums. As a regime or a country, I can understand why North Korea needs to build up its military might. It needs that for its survival even at the cost of its own people who suffers from famine and poorness.
Any government that does not take good care of its own people is a bad government. I hope North Korea can change itself gradually in a peaceful way. What happens in Burma now is promising democratically. North Korea, with the new young leader, may make changes that fit the modern world today. It does not seem possible now, as what it was with East and West Germany. But Berlin Wall did crumble.
