Greetings myloters, How were your Easter Holidays this year? Have you went anywhere for a trip? I went, being a family tradition, to my father's village called Pili, a quiet small village near a mountain in Greece. Today we had a lamb some kokoretsi and wine, as this is part of a Greek Tradition for Easter Sunday, with most of our close siblings even though the weather hasn't been on our side these last couple of day's, being rainny and windy all the time. Now we plan on getting back to our hometown tomorrow after lunch. Your turn :)

Hiya lakantar, Did not go anywhere for Easter this year. My lot in this House only take Holidays with their Friends now it has been like this for a very long time. Some people don´t like to go very far and these are those kind of people. Me I don´t mind most of the time as I like to be close to home a lot so it´s neither here nor there if I don´t really get to go anywhere. What I love most are Daytrips and that is more in line my these lot in this House lol. Love the sound of that lamb Dish you made hope you all enjoyed it.xxx

Kind of the same when it comes to trips. Hopefully my father's hometown isn't very far from where we live so we don't need more than an hour to reach it. Yeap the lamp is good, I guess the Greek Easter tradition is about eating A LOT :P hehe

Hiya lakantar, Mainly we only eat the most Lamb at Christmas it´s more of a tradition here too not so much Easter but at Christmas and New Years Eve. If your Father does not live so far away then it should be much easier to organize a weekend trip every so often to go and eat out with him. xxx

my easter holidays were great. i spent it with my family over meals, and then my boyfriend and i went stations of the cross and hear mass. those were simple but just enough for me to consider my easter holidays as special ones.

That's nice :) In Greece since churches here are Christian they have different traditions. People go to the church and after that the epitaph of Jesus is moved around some parts of the city while people follow, holding candles.

My Easter holiday was so boring, the streets in our town was so quiet and no one goes out in the street. It always happen every holy week and the loneliness killing me. It's just I am not used to it.

Easter was pretty good for me. Easter weekend I hid eggs for the kids to find and they seemed to quite enjoy that. I didn't go anywhere for a trip though but it sounds like you did and had a lot of fun. What is kokoretsi? I used to work for a Greek Restaurant but never heard of it.

That's nice. Kokoretsi is a dish that is usually made on Easter Sunday, we usually eat it while the lamb roasts. We don't usually make it besides on Easter Sunday so that's why it's not very often to be served on Greek Restaurants. It is made on long skewer and it contains the heart, liver, lungs, kidneys, fat and sweetbreads of the lamb and it is wrapped with the lamb's intestines (after being washed :P) and some oil, salt and pepper.

I don´t have an Easter Holiday tradition in my family. Even the Easter bunny is something new. When I was a girl, the holiday had everything to do with the passion of Christ as we are mainly a catholic country. But the bunny came with MacDonalds and the children expect an egg hunt (chocolate eggs bought at the supermarket). So, on Sunday, I was invited for lunch and then I painted some real hardboiled eggs with my smaller grandchildren and then hid the chocolate ones in the garden.
