Would you buy clothes from a webshop?

Last time I visited my mother-in-law she showed me a skirt that she had found in an online shop. It looked very nice and she was interested in buying it, but she was afraid to buy something that she wasn't able to try on first. We looked at the website together, there were a lot of nice clothes and I was tempted to buy some the clothes, but like my mother-in-law I think it is a little hard to buy clothes that I have only seen on the internet. The colours might be different in real life and the clothes might not fit. I have bought many other things on the internet, but I have never bought clothes or shoes. What about you? Do you buy clothes online? Why/why not?

i did buy clothes in an online shop, all dresses and all fit well thank God. It is scary that it might not fit..but i do really ask the seller if it fits the large or medium or smaller as i am really a large size i buy clothes online as i tend to be lazy to go around the mall and look for clothes plus there are ones that i like online which are not in the malls as well

It is good to hear that you had a positive experience with online clothes shopping. I buy clothes in the mall, and I think it is nice to walk around in the shops and see the clothes in person, but I have thought about trying online shops instead. Sometimes it is tiring to walk around from shop to shop, and I think it would be easier to use a webshop. Another reason why I would like to try online clothes shopping is the place that I live. The malls are not close to my home so it takes a while to drive there.

Yes, I buy clothes online. It is very convenient for me sometimes especially that I don't have time to go the mall to go shopping for my clothes.

It is true that it can be very convenient to buy clothes online. You can do it from your own home and you can do it whenever you want, because you don't have to visit the offline shops during the opening hours. It is also less time consuming to buy things online, because you don't have to go from shop to shop in the mall. Despite the advantages I haven't tried to buy clothes online, because I am afraid that I wouldn't be able to pick out the right sizes. Do you find it easy to find clothes that fit you when you shop online?

I sell clothes online too, so I know what size I get and you can ask questions to the seller regarding the sizes. So far, the sizes of the dresses and blouses I bought online are the sizes for me.

So far I haven't bought clothes online, because I was afraid that the clothes wouldn't fit. You are right, sometimes the clothes look great on the photos, but when you receive the clothes they are different from the way that you expected. Some of my friends have experienced that. One of my friends bought clothes from the website in another country, the clothes were expensive and so was the shipping, but unfortunately the clothes didn't live up to her expectiation when she finally received the parcel in the mail.

Hello Porcospino, I have never bought anything from online shop. Sometimes I felt to buy on seeing the cheap cost but on a second thought I am leaving that idea. I am not sure about the quality of the things and don’t know how it reach us. Once it reaches us, if there is any damage then, who is responsible for it? I felt it is better to shop directly from the shop rather than depending up on online products.

I have bought other things online, but I have never bought clothes. It is true that we can't be sure about the quality when we buy something online. The pictures always look nice, but they can be deceiving. I am not afraid of boying things like books or cds online, but I am careful when I want to buy other things and I think it is easier to judge the quality of things when we are able to examine them in person. I am not sure about the rules about things that get damaged in the mail, because I have never received anything that was broken, but I am sure there are some rules about that.

Me too, I have bought different kinds of items from the internet already but I never bought clothes or shoes yet. I don't have much confidence in buying those online. I am always thinking about its consequences.

It can be difficult to buy clothes and shoes on the internet and you could choose the wrong size when you don't have the chance to see the clothes or the shoes in person. That kinds of thoughts have been holding me back so far. I can see from this discussion that many people buy clothes online, and I am thinking about trying it, too, because I live on an island where there are no malls. At the moment I only buy clothes when I visit one of the malls on the neighbour island. I have bought many other things online for instanse books and cds and I find it much easier to buy those things, because you don't have to worry about the size.

I have never bought clothes from online shop, sometime I tempted to buy it but Im afraid the size doesnt suit my body and it will be hard to replace or change the clothes so i need to buy my clothes in real shop and try the clothes before purchase it. Seeing the picture of the clothes on websites is really fun, I can get to see many different styles of clothes but sometime i wonder to myself if the clothes will look as good as what I seen on the picture. Most of the online shop use model or manequin and I always think that they looks good because they (the manequin and the models) have nice body, and my body is just average. This is why I never purchase my clothes from internet, I dont mind buy accesories like banges, necklace because it can fit all size but I dont think I can buy clothes from online shop.

I have the same things of thought about online clothes shopping. The photos of the clothes are beautiful, and the models are beautiful, but maybe the clothes might not look the same way when I wear them. I don't have a body like a model. Another thing that I am wondering about is the size. When I visit an offline shop I can try on the clothes before I buy them, and if I discover that I have picked the wrong size it is not a big problem I can just go back to the shelves and pick a different size. If I buy clothes in an online shop I would have to return the clothes if I have picked the wrong size. Of course there are also advantages about online shopping. It is nice that we can pick out clothes from our own home and receive them in the mail. That is great thing for a person like me who live on an island without any malls, and that it is one of the reasons why I am tempted to try it despite the disadvantages.

I did not try clothes yet but with some electronic stuff i do. I also sell clothes online even bag and shoes, and your right sometimes its hard to deal sometimes if you don't really see the actual clothes you like. I'm having a hard time dealing with those costumers who said what their sizes but getting complains when they received the item. that's why most of my clothes are free sizes anyone can fit because of the stretchable textile.

Sizes that everyone can wear sound like a good solution. It can be hard to find the right size when you only see things on the internet, so it is much easier when the clothes fit everyone, and you can avoid the complaints from people who got the wrong size. I have never bought clothes or shoes online, but I have boughr many other things for instanse books, cds, dvds, watches, cellphones etc. Maybe I will also try to buy some clothes one day, it can be tempting, because some of the clothes that I see online look nice.

I've bought clothes online but I normally do not buy them. Back in High School my grandmother allowed me to buy a few things I liked that I found on a website. That was once that I did it and they fit but not very.. well. The second time was when I was getting married and needed to buy the clothes for it. We had to return two items but that was it and it was very simple to do so and get a bigger size.

It is good to hear that is was easy for you to return the things and get a different size. I am not sure that I would be able to find the right size online, and that is the main reason why I haven't bought clothes online yet. I might try it one day if I am sure that it is possible to return the clothes and get a different size. I usually buy clothes in one of the shops on the neighbour island, but it is not that close to my home, and sometimes it would be easier to buy clothes online.

Hi Porcospino, I don't buy anything online. Because if I find it is not exactly according to my choice than I have to face an unwanted botheration. Either I have to contact with them online or to go directly to the seller. It is waste of time. It is better to go to market and buy things according to choice.

I think that there are some advantages about online shopping, because it is easy to look at the different options on the internet. I live on an island and there are lot of things that I can't buy here so I have to drive a city on the neighbour island to buy those things if I choose to buy them in an offline shop. If I buy them online they deliver the parcel to my house. I like to visit offline shops, too, but sometimes it is easier for me to buy things online. I haven't bought clothes online, but I have bought many other things online. On the other hand there are advantages about offline shopping, too like you mention. When you buy something at the marked you have the chance to see the things in person before you buy them. If you buy something online you only see a picture of the things and if you buy the wrong things you have to send them back, talk to the seller etc.

Good day Porcospino, With reference to your topic, well, I have already experienced buying clothes online. And it is really fine on my part. I have received the goods via courier and it looks good. The fitting is okay and the real color is perfectly matched to my complexion. Thus buying clothes online is fine, you just need to scrutinize it thoroughly over their online store.

Hi, Porcospino, I by most of my clothes from second hand shops these days. And I have problems with my feet so it's a must for me to try on the shoes. But I've heard that some people chose clothes or shoes in the shops where they can try on. Then they search for these clothes in webshops and buy them cheaper.

I also buy part of my clothes in second hand shops. I visited a second hand shop last week and I found some very nice clothes and they were not very expensive compared to new clothes. Sometimes I also buy new clothes, but I don't have a lot of money for new clothes, so I often choose to visit the second hand shops instead. The thing you wrote about people who try on the clothes in the shops and buy them cheaper online is a new idea to me. I hadn't thought about that, but that would solve the problems about the sizes.

When I buy clothes I also like to try them on first. A few times I have bought clothes without trying them on first. It sometimes happens if there is a long line in front of the fitting rooms and I am in a hurry. Sometimes I regret that when I return to my home and try on the clothes, because I discover that the clothes don't fit and I have to return them to the shop. I think it is best to try on the clothes before I buy them, that way it is easy to get another size if the first size doesn't fit.

I never tried buying clothes online, although I was thinking about it. If it was possible to return them if they don't fit, then maybe I would. But I have problems when I shop at the store - sometimes even the clothes in my size don't fit well. Some companies just seem to size differently. So I rather see the clothes and try them before buying.

I have experienced the same thing. When I visit the mall I pick the clothes in my size or the size that I usually wear, but sometimes the clothes don't fit. Like you say the companies are different and their sizes are different. That is one of the reasons why I think it is nice to try on the clothes before I buy them. If I discover that I need a different size it is easy to go back to the shelf and get a different size. If I buy clothes online is more complicated because I would have to send the clothes back and I am not that sure about the rules. That is one thing that I would have to find out before I decide to buy clothes online.

It is nice to touch the clothes, see them in person and try them on before we buy them. That is also the main reason why I haven't tried to buy clothes online. I wouldn't say that I would never do it, because I have been tempted to do it in the past, but I am afraid that it will be hard to choose the right size. In some cases the colours are different in real life like one of my friends experienced when she got the clothes that she had bought online, and that is another thing that I am a little worried about it.

It's hard to buy clothes online. Because you can't try it first. So, you don't know weather they're suitable for you. I used to buy clothes online. However, I only buy simple clothes such as tregging or T-shirt.

I have to say that it is really popular nowadays in our country and i just bought the clothes on the internet for many times. This may depend on the luck sometimes cause some are really good but some are not.Well, just look at the reputation of the seller and also the valuation that buyers had give.

Yes, I think it is important to look at the seller's reputation. Some sellers are honest and we can buy things from them witout problems and some sellers will try to scam us. My husband and I haven't bought clothes online, but we have bought many other things online and we have had a couple of bad experiences with sellers. On the other hand I have met many sellers that were honest. Sometimes it is matter of luck and I think that it always a very good idea to check the reputation of the seller

Yes, I bought two shorts online via fb where the seller do meet up schedule somewhere. Yes, it is true that the disadvantage for buying online is that it might not fit your size though it is hassle free while you shop. Choosing at the web while sitting down is a relax mode way of shopping.

Yes, it is relaxing to shop online, because we are able to do it from our own home. It is nice to browse the online shops while we are sitting down in our own livingroom and it also takes less time to shop that way, because we don't have to go walk from shop to shop in the mall. So far I have only bought other things than clothes online, because I am afraid that the clothes won't fit if I am unable to try them on before I buy them, but one day I might take the chance and buy some clothes online. It is tempting sometimes and when I surf the internet I often find some clothes that I like.

i havent tried buying clothes from a webshop. but i want to try. however there are some cases that my friends have already encountered in buying online. one would be, that the item is not fit on their body and the worst is that they cannot return and exchange it. so somehow that scares me to buy online.

I have the same thoughts as you. I haven't bought clothes or shoes online, but some of my friends have tried it, and like your friends some of them have had some bad experiences and they have bought things that didn't fit or things they didn't like. One of my friends spent a huge amount of money on some shoes. He bought them from a website in another country and shipping etc was expensive, but when he received them he didn't like them, because they looked different in real life. I would be afraid that the same thing would happen to me and so far I haven't bought clothes online.

I remember saying something about this in a nother discussion cause I buy alot of clothes online. My view is that if I know the brand then I can be confident of the sizes, quality etc. and so far this hasn't failed me

It is good to hear that your experiences with online clothes shopping are positive and that you manage pick the right size without problems. I don't know the brands that well, because I generally buy a lot of different brands, and I am not sure that I would be able to pick the right size. When I visit the offline shops I sometimes pick the wrong size of clothes and I discover that when I try on the clothes. When I am in a shop I just go back to the shelves and pick another size. Hi Porcospino, Yes I do buy clothes online. Sometimes, online stores are actually cheaper than stores in the mall or in the department stores. So, technically, I buy from online stores since they are cheaper. normally, online stores have free delivery offers if you reach a certain amount. Of course I will take advantage of those types of promotions. But the down side of online shopping is that sometimes what you see in front of the computer screen is different from what you receive in your package. I have experienced that sometimes colors are different. It will either be a darker shade or a lighter shade than in the picture online. Sometimes, the sizing is also incorrect. But the good thing about this is you can return it to the store and get your money back if you are not satisfied with the item. Most online stores have these return policies. Try buying on the internet. Sometimes, you can even catch an online deal or an online sale! Sale items are not included in the returns policy though. Happy shopping and Happy mylotting, friend!
