In Vietnam there is a controversy right now, A Spaniard girl with no Vietnamese lineage is allowed to compete in Miss Vietnam. They allowed her because she have Vietnamese Greencard. The Vietnamese people had been debating about her because she doesnt have Vietnamese lineage nor born in Vietnam.
On her defense, she said that she is a Vietnamese girl through and through, she said she lives with Vietnamese Culture, Customs and tradition.(born and raised in Spain)
On the other hand, There had Been a Russian woman who is Miss Canada and she won Miss Universe, There had been a Latino Miss USA and an Asian Miss USA who won Miss Universe. Then we had already seen immigrants representing their adoptive country instead of their motherland.
Then the Vietnamese againts her replied, USA and Canada is a diverse country of all races...Vietnam is 99% Vietnamese.
this is her photo: http://i46.servimg.com/u/f46/16/96/39/19/11240710.jpg
oh a video of her: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j5ijQB9cLcU&feature=player_embedded
I think she got allowed to compete to avoid racism issues.

I think the same thing happened with Venuz Raj but the good thing with her is that she was able to present an evidence showing that she has Filipino blood in her. it seems to be that Beauty pageants are always haunted with these kind of controversies which to an extent give more life to the competition. The more controversies, the more people talk people talk about it. Ms Vietnam could have her own reasons but for me it's about getting publicity. She could be kicked out from the competition or not but I think the ultimate goal has been achieved and she's already on her way to stardom.

she can at least dye her hair black, so she will look more Vietnamese and if she is a proud Vietnamese.... she wont speak english at the question and answer portion.

Makes me wonder though why she prefers Miss Vietnam if she can join Miss Spain. I thought all weabo wants to be Japanese.

She is very pretty.. but i think the essence of those pageants are more of what a woman really is and not of the nationalities.. i guess some are strict with the nationalities as to give fair change to those really natural born as maybe there are joining who are not really from that country...

I think USA and Canada are more accepting because its a diverse country where all races are available, In this woman's case, she is in Vietnam, where most people are Asian. Some Vietnamese dont mind her but others are not. she speaks fluent Vietnamese though and seemed to be obsessed with Vietnamese culture. We can say she loves Vietnam so Much she rather represent it over Spain.

yup they did allow her.. I have nothing against racism but isn't Miss Universe all about natural womanhood? I mean..c'mon a lot of women already feel bad of looking not enough pretty or that beautiful; now that transexual's just showing out to our faces how ugly we are that they can look really perfect. huhu-hehe
It's fine with me if they compete, I was just hoping in a different category.

What do you think of a Caucasian woman being allowed as Miss Vietnam, she said that she may have no Vietnamese blood but she is Vietnamese through and through. Basically she is a Spanish woman who works in Vietnam as model, After staying there for few years, she thinks that she is Vietnamese now.
