My 2-year old son is hyperactive and during night time, he gets his sleep past midnight already. In effect, we, his parents, will get less rest due to this. I've read an article saying that hyperactivity is related to insomnia. It's been my problem now.

I'm not an expert and I don't have child yet, anyway I think you should ask to a doctor or a pharmacist for a product to help your son to sleep at night. I think it's better to search for an herbal product that can be more suitable for a children. You can even ask some experts if there are foods or beverages good for your children problem and what are on the contrary the bad ones so you can avoid them.

I will consider consulting a pediatrician. They are child experts and I know they have big knowledge on my problem. Thanks.

I think proper medication is needed. your son is very young and he really needs to get enough sleep for his growth so as early as possible ask help to doctors.

There are different ways to handle hyperactivity in children. Of course, there is medication, but if you don't want to go down that route that is okay, there are other options. The biggest thing to help hyperactivity is to take away external source that would worsen the situation. The obvious of this being sugar and caffeine. These are both stimulants and would just add to the hyperactivity. It doesn't mean your child can never have these things, but definately in moderation and not a couple hours before bed would be helpful. Also, you need to make sure that he is getting enough activity. Get him in a sport, gym, kickboxing, Gymboree...something to get out that energy. He is two so you could make some games out of chores. Have him help you clean up the house! I think you get the idea! :)

Right. Get him exhausted is better than giving him medication. Thanks for your suggestion.
